  1. Hi Alan, this is great and I think his family would agree, brilliant idea. Regards Marina
  2. Ok, for me The Ship is one pub, which I enjoy visiting and (there is not many I like / enjoy) to sit out in the garden, with a glass of cool beer / shandy (thats mine) . Overlooking the flat land across on the other bank and the river Yare doing it's own thing . What it does to me is total relaxation and peace . Fingers crossed and good luck to who ever takes it on . Roll on for the season to start again . Regards Marina
  3. Sod . Regards Marina (mum)
  4. This is going back to maggots and as to where to store them . Well the first time our dear son had our boat for a week of fishing, he sent me a photo of a container in the fridge full of maggots, with the wording of " Oh well the fridge is working ok". At least he keep the lid on, while in the fridge . Regards Marina
  5. After reading what all are saying, can I just say that there is always two sides to every story . That is why I cannot believe all what was said. Regards Marina
  6. As for the size I don't know until we go back up (which is the end of Feb), but they are wider than we were looking at today. Do pedestals come in different sizes? Regards Marina
  7. At the boat show today we were looking at Marine Teak table tops for a small, but nice table top. What I want to do is to save putting another base onto the floor. I want if possible to use the pedestal from the table we already have on the boat. I am guessing and trying to remember our pedestals are wider than the one's on the market today (I may be wrong), but how or where would I get a under table mount pedestal plus would fit our pedestal (which are a good 20 years old). Has anyone, please got any ideas where I / we could get an under table mount? Any help of advise would be very grateful. Many thanks. Regards Marina
  8. What would be nice is to have the 2018 calendar as seasonal . Also to have the place the picture was taken, with the name who took it . Lets put more into the NBN Calendar and make it the best. Regards Marina
  9. This is such sad news and he will be sadly missed by all. My condolence to his family. NBN has lose a great guy. Rest in peace. Regards Marina
  10. I for once got a secret santa who knew what I like a lovely bottle of Ruby Port . At lease I will have enough Port to take a bottle back to the boat in the spring , that's me sorted . Regards Marina
  11. We got our calendar today, it's good, but we thought each photo was to have location / name of person who took the photo. Regards Marina
  12. After my 30 years in catering and the word inspectors, it would bring a chill to all working in the catering trade . Ok that was around 40years ago. In this day and age for catering and any establishment selling food we now have the "Scores on the doors" and it is great to see the scores they have been given for the hygiene and standard of the establishments. Now if I saw a restaurant or shop with a zero score, that tells me to keep a wide beth. There are people thinking to open and sell food is easy, but they forget about the standards. Regards Marina
  13. We have been pass Alpha Craft through out 2016 from our mooring's up to the river and looking at Alpha boats, I for one feel very sorry for the guys and staff of Alpha Craft . The condition of the boat just got worse over the season and they would need a lot of repair work on them and that is just on the outside, god knows what the inside of the boat are like, as we could see external doors / windows open . Fingers cross someone does buy and opens it back up . Regards Marina
  14. As Ian said, we popped up to check on Sweet Kingfisher to day. The first time of getting up early to go out in the car and dear Jack Frost had to be thick on the car . Dartford tunnel all good this morning. Driving alone the A140 and we had a family of Grouse (a large family) crossing the road (on the way back there were no dead grouse on the road, good). I was worried how we were going to get up on the boat, but climbing up the ladder was fun, a lot easier than I through it would be . Couldn't walk around the deck or up onto the fly bridge, because of ice. Done some Christmas shopping at Potter and onto Wroxham for more shopping. Lunch was at Woodfords, but the driver (me) could only have a diet coke to drink and the other half Ian had to have a good glass of Woodfords . Then I had to drive home . Good journey. Regards Marina
  15. Hi SueH, the funny thing is, the shop did tannoy at 10:50 then again at 10:55 and again at 10:59 , but still some shoppers carried on shopping . That's humans for you . Regards Marina
  16. I was in a shop and happy to do the 2 minute silence, but sorry to say others did not and carried on shopping . That was very sad to see Regards Marina
  17. Hi, thanks for sharing this scam with all of us . I for one would not have thought it was a scam . Regards Marina
  18. We are not into Halloween. I locked the porch door so no little brats could knock on the front door . In years gone by, we had more big brats and they would pass the word around where / who was giving out goodies . No more from us, peace and quite on Halloween. Regards Marina
  19. We (Chelsea14Ian) went to the cinema Saturday night and once again why do I get all the pain in the butt seating next to me . Well this time I had a guy eating a three course meal while we were watching the film. I had to ask him to be quite, as all I could hear was him eating . Ian said it is where cinema's make their money, but what about watching a film in peace and quite. I say no to food to be eaten in while watching a film . Ok what do you all think? Should food be consumed in the cinema . Regards Marina
  20. In all my year's on the Broads I / we have never seen an otter just laying there and taking it easy in the water. Ok in July we did see a baby otter the a garden next to Pulls Ferry and that was out of this world. Apart from him, we saw one swimming down near the turning to Beccles and not only did we see an otter there, but also we saw an Bittern in flight. The Broads is a great place for wild life. Regards Marina
  21. Hi All, this message is still showing up. Alan (JawsOrca) said it would go after logging off. Well it came up again. Regards Marina
  22. Going back to saying South River was quite. Ok no way is it like North River (thank christ ), but this year south river has been a lot busy than we had seen earlier in the season. If we look at September (our 2 weeks hols) we headed back down south on the 12th and every moorings down to O/B was busy and all that week south river was busy. Beccles was packed packed and even others said they had never seen it that busy. Then we were up the first weekend in October and moored at Loddon for lunch, busy. Rockland St Mary we moored for the evening and there was only a couple of mooring available. South River is still the best for peace and quite . Regards Marina

  24. Go for it Alan, ok it will not be as good as Southampton, but it is a lot closer and for £5 each . We go and enjoy meeting up with those who we know . Of course we travel there and home free being over 60 . Regards Marina
  25. Well it is almost the end of October and we received our London Boat Show tickets 2017 this morning in the post . Got the email during the week and the special offer was 2 tickets for £10, so we ordered and got them in less than two days . Fingers crossed for a good Boat Show 2017. Regards Marina
