  1. I need to speak with the Doctors on Friday.Maily about meds and hopefully to arrange for my annual breathing check.I will ask about a letter re masks. If I get a answer I will share on this post. For the life of me I see no reason why something as simple as a badge can't be given, to support us
  2. Its not only on social media its often reported on TV.If fact there's lots of talk about it now on BBC breakfast. The first day when it was made so on transport. A women being interviewed, said she challenged someone not wearing a mask and reported him.Without the support of a badge/letter,we have no way of letting others know that wearing a mask is a problem. This also applies to under five's those that lip read , seriously disabled.
  3. SInce the start of the virus the NHS/Government have informed me what to do.They have decided for us to wear face coverings.About two and a half million of us are at risk.It would be easy to issue us with a litter. The situation at present is confused. When masks was first mentioned I asked my Nurse practitioner if I had to wear a mask, her answer was yes and we can't give a letter to say you don't need to.. Give us a litter and produce a badge.
  4. The first time I used a mask was when I went to A&E,about six weeks ago.It was difficult to breathe just sitting down walking made it worse. It is for those of us a catch 22.We are in theory exampt from wearing masks. To be honest I just don't know whats best.As I'm still sheilding I'm not going out much. Each morning on BBC breakfast a GP answers questions about the virus etc.Yesterday she said perhaps the best for us was to wear a face shield. For myself I couldn't wear a mask for too long.At present theres nothing to show we are exampt There have been suggestions such as a badge or a letter. As I write this a GP today said that most would be okay.I feel we have been overlooked. I think a badge would be a good idea and a letter.I can see if we don't wear a mask and we're challenged we may be made to look bad.
  5. There seems to be a growing trend amongst some, that think some of us on furlough are sponging. Well some one who is furloughed, sheilding and has taken voluntary redundancy I don't consider it as sponging. It has been the biggest disruption to my life.I have had to use some of my pension and make changes to my life.Yes I will spend a few days on my boat if that's alright with you.DONT tare us all with the same brush.
  6. I repeat No this is not Facebook .If you don't like a post say so or move on.
  7. So So far the thumb down option has got the thumbs down. Its simple if people disagree are we do from time to time, just post another view.
  8. Its a forum not Facebook.

  10. To get too Geldeston depends on the height of the boat. If you can get under the bridge at Beccles its lovely.
  11. My navigater Marina my wife always works out the tides. We tend to hit Braydon at low slack to get under the bridges at Yarmouth. We are 8.6.Then the tide works with us going along the Bure.
  12. We've spent over 11 years at Brundall and before that hired from Silverline and Alpha craft. The Yare is a interesting pub ,to be honest will rarely eat then any more. They never change the menu. Its okay if you seldom eat there.Still will go for a pint.Never bin.to the Ram heard good reports of it.The Chinese is okay.If you want to drive the choice is yours. At present no dought you will need to pre book.
  13. Fully agree with you,as I said think its time they made there own way.
  14. You could Moor at Coldham Hall Takes all of 10 minutes to get there.
  15. Just work with the tides, try not to fight them.If you do you will us more fuel and its hard work.Silverline are very good ,gets some advice from them.Very well maintained boats. You may see us ,we are based at Cove Sweetkingfisher. Welcome Ian
  16. I think its about time that we stopped paying for the BBC,and they made there own way in the world.Gone are the days when they lead there way in broadcasting. There are some very good programming on the BBC,but there's also lots of rubbish. Some of there presenters and reporters are in my opinion poor compared to some of the greats of the past. And yes many of them are overpaid.
  17. Don't think Jack had to buy many pints of the black stuff in Ireland.
  18. I may be a Big Chelsea team, but over the years have a lot of respect for great players what ever team of country they've played for .Class will.always shine through.
  19. Sadly Big Jack has passed away at the age of 85.Words like legend are thrown around. In he's case he truly was .Think I saw he play once At Chelsea. Later being a adopted Irish man.Another player of the 1966 World Cup winning team. Sure Jack is now setting up a Heven 11. RIP Jack.
  20. Not all boats were in Hoseasons or Blakes. Some were and are independent. Some used to have there own brochures.
  21. Matthew why don't you do a pm to Andy at freedom boating hols.zHe can give you detailed information. Ian
  22. Basic food items are indeed zero rated VAT.I understand people being reluctant to eat out,for a number of reasons, whither that's for health or pocket.Indeed as I have said we will be on the boat next week, because I'm still shielding we won't go to the pub.Otherwise we may well of visited The Whitehorse Chedgrave and the Ferry House surlingham. We do still have to be careful, but the businesses have to restart taking money. My thoughts on working from home,I don't see it carrying on long term, what I think may be the case is a mix of home and office.I would say to people please support local businesses, shops pubs and restaurants. Many pubs and restaurants do takeaways .They all need your support.
  23. I do think some companies are using furlough for there own purposes. Will.be interesting to see what they do when it comes to a end.
