  1. I do agree, think we're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.I work in contact catering and we have lost lots of contacts. Many of our customers are working from home, and some of our clients are downsizing there catering. Sadly there are very few winners.
  2. As a Chef I'm pleased with the reduction of VAT for Hospitality.Think it will help, also the scheme for Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. The reduction in VAT doesn't apply to booze. My business has been whacked for six,any help is welcome.
  3. I liked the £1000 bonus to employers if they bring back fulhoughed employees. How many will do that until January 2021.Then let them go? Regarding my company, think they have handled us poorly.Sure they will claim there £1000.
  4. My pneumonia I was in hospital for five days,on a drip and oxygen 27 7 then at home on oxygen for a week, coming off slowly each day. Interested in what you said about "the thingy".All day today I have a shape pain between my neck and my arm.Very uncomfortable. I wonder if its the same thing.
  5. Well today I've felt in the best of health in over two weeks.Think the infection is starting to go. This morning I took what I thought was my last antibiotic. My breathing is still not brilliant. I was looking forward to some red wine this weekend. Then this afternoon I had a call from the Doctor he told me to take another course of antibiotics and to have one more xray next month. Still wondering weither to have a covad test.I don't think I did get it,but may put my mind at rest. This pneumonia was more serious then I thought at first.
  6. Alan do you know how long the A47 will be closed?
  7. Thats the phone number I found as well. They are as I said taking bookings and moorings.
  8. It was on Facebook yesterday, if you have facebook check it out.If not I will see if I can get it. They are taking bookings .
  9. It is surely, you pay your money and take your chance. We've moored at Cove for five years.Very happy we are too. Its not the cheapest, nor the dearest .Since owing boats, now 10 years we have been moored at Eastwood and Cove,Brundall both very good. Not so happy when Eastwoods changed hands, then Greenway Chedgrave. Liked it there but moved back to Brundall, due to Marinas Arthritis making it hard on and off the stern all the time. You can of course moor is some spots cheaply with little or no services. Again pick a moorings that suits you and your pocket.
  10. The New Inn is taking booking large outside area. Waters edge Brumaton
  11. Its that funny thing you use to make your shirt look good
  12. Check with the yard your boat is from.
  13. Not sure why it's called cucumber Lane. You may or may not know but the mint used in Colmans mint sauce is a variety only found in Brundall or taken from there. Not many people know that.
  14. I will try and give you a head start!
  15. Marina drives the car, I drive the car.Be the way think Paul your tired of life. She may be small but she will get you!
  16. There's no doubt many many have suffered much more then me.I am grateful for my position. In all my life I've never had to deal with something like this it has knocked my confidence without question. Think the NHS/Government got it right with shielding, what worries me going forward is the affects on us in terms of mental health and yes building confidence. Before lockdown my main health concern was and is COPD.Something I learnt to live with. Work wise I often , out worked those half my age.Not bad for a 60+ with COPD.A real worry for me is this pneumonia, it may have made my COPD worse. When I can will get my breathing checked.Normally August. Believe me next week I will be like a kid with a new toy.
  17. From today the guildlines on shielding relax slightly. From now on I can form a bubble of six meeting outside. Therefore Alan,Dave,Nicola and her husband Phil could meet me.Still not meant to visit shops or anywhere indoors. From 1 August shielding ends in England. Must admit that is a little concerning. Still will ,deal with that as it comes. This whole period of my life has at times been difficult to deal with.I feel for many that live on there own many in flats. All said and done very pleased we have almost got the house in the right place to sell, and aim.to be in Norfolk or Suffolk this time next year.I have taken the advice very seriously, but we will go up to the boat next week for a few days.Very much looking forward to it.Not sure where, may be Berney and back. For me it will be like Christmas, birthdays rolled into one.Sheilding has often been very difficult to deal with to get the news on my birthday that I would need to sheild for 12 weeks at least was not the present I hoped for. I now will start to look forward to the future, and hopefully a better time for all of us.
  18. Another great programme just finished on BBC1 Arther Ashe:more then a Champion. A look back at he's career. The high spot winning Wimbledon in 1975.Sadly he died due to infectioned blood given to him during a heart bypass operation. A great player and a great statesman. Before he died a non playing captain for USA Davis Cup.Perhaps the hardest part keep John Mac under control. I think he could have gone on to win more titles. A very sad end to a brilliant player and role model.
  19. No because they spotted a leak and shut up shop in case
  20. Now your asking a lot. Many of this lot are more interested in what they say rather then those they are interviewing!
  21. The annoying thing, the rules have been relaxed for the benefit of us all. If people are sensible every one would benefit. Sadly many have no sense.
  22. I know the feeling,glad all well.
  23. Back to when we used to hire, they advised against mooring there.Due to tide and current. Yes indeed they have a small stretch of moorings there. As Vaughan said think politics playing a bit there.
  24. From memory, BA always advised against mooring at Berney Arms. That never stopped people mooring there.RSPB again why ?The pubs been there for years. Not sure the reasoning behind these objections.Customers were always a mix of boaters, bird watchers and walkers. Lets get a good land lord, manager a some clever thinking, could be one of the best pubs On the river.
