  1. Very true there are now a number of very good sweet wines. We still have one we brought in Canada. For me I do have a sweet tooth but I'm not keen on sweet wines.
  2. A little tip if your making rabbit pie ,keep the ears helps to keep the pie up.
  3. We used to hire from Silverline, often our last night was spent at Bramerton. There used to be lots of ducks there. Not seen that many there in recent years. The ducks were quite funny. One used to have a fairly bad limp.Another one used to like a chat and would sit close to the boat chatting away.
  4. The point is She did not order them it's up to the Police what to do with it.It may well be stolen, besides which we dont want it.
  5. This is in Marina's name with our Address. She did not order it and now the Police are dealing with it.IT is a scam plain and simple Those that sent it if they, for what ever reason want it back. All they have do is contact the police.
  6. Marina posted on a local group on Facebook. This scam is doing the rounds locally. If it happens to you ,dont give it back, phone the Police and make sure you speak to your bank .Clearly they wanted it back two people came to us saying it was a mistake. Just tell them the Police are dealing with it.I really hate these people .
  7. Taking of local try Norfolk wines very good, far from cheap but occasions like Christmas a real treat.
  8. Most wines are quite rightly protected. In the same way as Stilton, Parma ham ,Cornish pasties etc.I'm a great believer in supporting local foods and drinks wherever I am.In doing so Hopefully it helps the local economy.Something that is very important now.
  9. Sauternes is a expensive Sweet French wine and is certainly illegal To be made anywhere apart from Bordeaux. There most famous being d'yquem. One of the most sort after wines often costing a small fortune. Back in the sixties many wine names were hijacked often from Spain. Now Spanish wines can more then hold there own.
  10. I think the Government will make a announcement before the end of the weeks.Hopefully early July.
  11. So update, firstly another chap turned up and said the parcel was delivered by mistake. Funny that it had Marina's name and our address on it.Marina phoned the Police, while she was on the phone yet another man turned up and said the same thing.Think he was from a cab company. Che came to collect it as it was a mistake he said.I told home no it's a scam and Marina is speaking to the Police now. This man clearly had Google maps and when I mentioned the Police he's phone went dead.Do we need this rubbish right now No.Just be careful and check deliverys. If something comes by mistake dont hand it back ensure you have receipt of return.Or like us let the correct company and or the police deal with it.
  12. As I speak think marina is the victim of a scam.Just arrived from DHL a parcel from 02 a iPad £1000.Marina received a email from Apple regarding A iPad.She checked it out it was a scam.So today this arrived .Shes checked with 02 again and yes it's a scam.Oddly another chap appeared at 10 minutes ago saying we received a parcel which was a mistake, yes I said it's a illegal delivery and is a scam.Yes he said and went away.Marina is now on the phone to the Police. These people are the lowest of the low.I hope there fingers drop off. Be aware.
  13. Common in the seventies. Prawn cocktail, Chicken Kiev, Black Forest Gateau. Washed down with Blue nun,or worse still Spanish Sauternes, which was wrong at every level and now illegal. Cheese fondue, cheese and pineapple hedgehogs, little squared canapes covered in aspic.
  14. It may be here or on Facebook, someone made a very good point. There is a growing world wide problem of modern slavery. Protesters would be better discussing that a try to reduce and stop A very real PRESENT disgrace that is slavery now. I think Policing will be tighter today. The London Mayor has asked people not to gather in large groups. He said there appears to be a raise in numbers of infection.
  15. My name is Ian I am a coffee oholic. Not sure that's a right word mind.I miss my coffee going to work, cappuccino or latte. Yes I have a machine at home, which helps to fill that missing gap.Yes it is nespresso. I would like a proper machine, but then wouldn't be able to afford the coffee.
  16. I would love to talk about the broads. In a normal year we would have been on the boat about three times by now. We a re held tight in this madness at present and it is hard to think of anything else . This dreadful virus has hit us all,in a way I've never seen anything like before. For me .With my condition if I get it I may die, simple as that. I've only just started to leave the house, all be it once a day,but still not allowed to go shopping or anywhere else apart from a walk each day.I face the real possibility of being out of a job also. What is driving me on,during lockdown we have tidied the house and I've been re painting rooms.Hopefully we will more to Norfolk next year, hopefully before summer ends we will get up to the boat.
  17. I know the feeling both our cats passed Poppy , 22 December and Cici 31 January. They enter your life they give so much, there happy once fed comfortable and loved. We still miss both our cats.
  18. Soup in a basket never worked even with croutons on the bottom.
  19. Keith you make some very good points. I just worry that these protests are going to carry on and being hijacked by those that have a grudge for a number of reasons. I dont disagree with some of the core points there making. Now perhaps is the time to invite people to have a proper debate. Will all those taking part be happy perhaps not but this needs to be dealt with looking for a acceptable outcome for the majority. After all said and done we are all in a deadly pandemic.
  20. From a professional perspective, food in the seventies was, often the beginning of fast food McDonald's the first of which in Woolwich London, pub food, yes scampi in the basket, steaks and so on or high end.I worked at the Savoy and the Berkeley hotel. Now there is a far better choice from.Fast food ,food from all over the world .There is a far greater range of food, much of which is affordable. Personally even though I have cooked and eaten the best of the best tasted the best wines in the world.I'm not that fussed I just want well cooked tasty food.
  21. There may well be a Irony here.History may tell us in years to come, that may be the fight against covad- 19 a world wide pandemic was hindered by protects by those fighting in there view Racial inequality.
  22. I think people need to get a grip on this.Set up a National inquiry into the whole question of Race relations, equality, Education and so on.Very wide ranging I admit. As it stands, this whole thing is playing into the hands of a group of odd fellows, rent a mob at the front, who frankly dont agree with any one apart from themselves. Sometime in future they will latch on to any protect that appears, no doubt many of them that took part in the climate protects. Some local councils, using what muscle they have to have a go at the Government. Many that are taking part are just following along perhaps they dont want to miss out. Many middle aged, middle class, for there own political reasons. In short the real reason it started in the first place, was the clear fact that a man died at the hand of a Police officer. Understandable that people want to protect.Quite rightly he and the other Police officers are facing justice. We do I believe need to debate many issues concerning race and take correct action. If these protects continue in my view the only thing it will active is to make matters worse.
  23. It's not great we've had the heating on last night and last Sunday We should have spent last week in Cornwall, weather was rubbish then.Next weeks appears better. We can life in hope.
  24. I should know but can't remember who did the Building work, about a year after it opened, builders came in to do cable work.Sadly one of the workman cut he's arm badly. The air ambulance was called up.Prisions have a restricted air space around them.Interesting Belmarsh is close to London city airport. They fly close but not over there airspace.Officers locked up inmates and directed the helicopter to land in the playing field. As you can imagine the helicopter came into land, lots of noise. Providing prisoners with light entertainment from there cells. The deputy Governor wasn't told the air ambulance called up.Think it frightened the life out of him.Chap taken to hospital, treated and was okay.About a month later another accident happened, this time every one informed. For some time after the chopper came , in we would pull the deputy governors leg.
  25. I will probably have a jab if it happens. Since I've had pneumonia, and advised to have the flu jab.I always take up the chance each year.
