  1. I think you will find that Potter Heigham Bridge is a scheduled Ancient Monument under the jurisdiction of English Heritage. Therefore the smart money is on it is going nowhere and will not be altered. Boats have been passing under it since 1385, unfortunately water levels have risen and flood defences have had to be made higher which tends to push the water further inland. As has been pointed out on many occasion, it is the fact it is an arch and Broads boats tend to be very wide beam in their superstructure that keeps many out. High craft would not benefit because the road bridge is less, quite a bit less than 8ft anyway.
  2. 73 years on:- Kitted by my Aunt. It has a bobtail so I assume it is a rabbit. His name is Thumper.
  3. Always stop for lunch or dinner if I have been to GY, Lowestoft or Southwold. I like the place.
  4. It is just the act of actual purchase that is blocked. Once purchased on my Kindle Paperwhite I can download to any of my tablets or phone.
  5. I just tried to purchase via the Amazon app and got as follows:-
  6. This appears to be my problem. It tells me in the Kindle app. I found this :-
  7. I am not sure if there has been a disagreement but I can not purchase books anymore useing any of my 3 Samsung Tablets or my Samsung S phone. I can however download to tablet once purchased on the Kindle. Conversely I recently read a travel book with YouTube links. The kindle was not supported anymore so had to watch on the tablet.
  8. I have a soft spot for the original early 60s Capri. A coupé of the Classic. My Mother had The Capri, but I never drove it on the roads as I was not legal until 1966. The Capri The Classic
  9. The greatest asset for me of The Paperwhite is you can measure battery life in days, even weeks if you read a bit in bed like me each evening. Not in hours. Sure you can only read on a Paperwhite and photos are better on a tablet but mine is small and easily slipped into a jacket pocket for waiting rooms etc.
  10. When we were "looking" to purchase in Norfolk. So would be 2006/7 The Old Police House in Horning was up for sale. We never moved forward on the property but if we had my late wife was going to rename it "Tedders"
  11. And many manufacturers have a 30 year parts availability policy after the last one rolls off the line.
  12. ÂŁ133 is a very good price, I have paid twice that on an Audi, and that was a long time ago.
  13. Yes, but it will be "right". Spare Keys on certain marques can prove a tad expensive though. Not to mention the fag of ordering in person, with proof of identity, and presenting the reg docs.
  14. My assessment is based on their price. Some beauties about for ÂŁ2 to 3K. For a German ( OsnabrĂĽck ) car built by Karmann powered by a Mercedes M112 V6. Even the Supercharged AMG versions are no money. A hell of a lot of Grand Tiurisomo bang for your buck.
  15. My hot tip for a "put away and keep" is the Crossfire. There are some beautiful examples around for absolutely no money.
  16. You can't normally fault US electronics. And they " jus luv turn signals"
  17. You have to remember that they are very shallow and do not retain their daytime build of heat like large bodies of deep water.
  18. I have many happy memories of driving it's forerunner the SLK many K through Victoria inc the GOR. Fab road trip and car was perfect
  19. There is much about the West Runton Mammoth in Cromer Museum. Worth a visit.
  20. There was a time, long ago now, where finishing off a purchase yourself had very significant tax advantages. Many sports cars were available as kits, in various stages of work required, Lotus Elan, Marcos, TVR come to mind. And the same was true of many well known boats as well. This lead to those who wanted to start from scratch and there were a good few companies who would sell you a bare hull, or hull and superstructure, or a full set of mouldings. The most well known was probably Colvic Craft, I think they were in Witham. But for the absolute purist and dreamer the only way was wire up your armature and go down the Ferro-cement route. Unfortunately the big draw back of ferro was it was too easy to get greedy. Very little cost, just time and hard work lead many to build hulls far too big, of a size where they could never dream of having the money to complete the fit out.
  21. I have always liked very mutch the Z3/4 coupés. Very much in the mould of a true Grand Tourisimo. I don't know if it is just the UK market but their production runs appear very short. I suppose having coupes based on their saloon cars offers more practicality but one would suit me, being on my own, nicely.
  22. Very nice indeed. I do love a sports car with a long bonnet and short rear end. À la AC E Type, Morgan, TVR etc.
  23. From tomorrow daytime temp should be low single figures until the weekend. Monday WX they are talking +10C.
  24. But difficult in North Walsham. Off the high street you have Roys Lidl Sainsburys with habitat, clothing and Argos Just outside Waitrose.
