  1. Good Old Archant Whilst researching the Ford Heritage Centre I came across the above's library photo of a Mustang!!????? You can see where the Mk3 Cortina heritage lies. Unbelievable
  2. EDP reporting the above. Sorry unable to copy link.
  3. Like most things properly used there should be no problem. When there is a very high fire risk no open flame bbq should be used. Being on my own I use disposable bbq,s with a proper stand. Here is one of mine from last summer on a teak table. No problem.
  4. Not tidal, Tidal waters end at entrance to Barton Broad from River Ant. If you look at the Ordinance Survey you will see NTL for Normal Tidal Limit.
  5. Sutton Staithe Boatyard site :-
  6. I think the bought it when it came up for sale
  7. Try to stick to the small outboards that have fuel injection. Over many years, any problems I have had, nearly all have been carburation. The worst being on my Honda 20 PowerThrust and float needles. Small Honda plastic/alloy flywheels are known for failure. My money would alway go to Yamaha, Mariner/Mercury or Tohatsu.
  8. It can not be so thin in the beam at that length. It has less beam than a narrowboat which are normally 6ft 11ins.
  9. The recent postings on this thread have brought back so many happy memories, of over 50 years ago now. When my late wife Judith and I, first as boyfriend/girlfriend then in 1971 a married couple shared a real passion for Continental touring/camping. Here, sadly not in very good condition are our steeds:- I have to admit to being a somewhat indulged only son. The cars were all bought new.
  10. PS. Back then I always used Castrol GTX in all my Triumph/BMC Minis and small sports cars. Never a problem.
  11. And remember these old spec non synthetic oils have a recommended oil and filter change at 6000 miles or just 3000 if doing short, around town driving. With the gearbox sharing the engine oil you don't want anything that gets too thin when hot. That is why I had an oil cooler fitted to my Clubman before taking on the 750km Autostrada del Sole. The 998cc four speed set up was only just capable of attaining the Italian speed limit so the 39 horses were straining hard, hour after hour. As an aside 39 bhp from a 998cc four pot, then, mine was a 72. Ford are now getting 170hp from their 999cc three pot in the Puma ST auto. Not a recommendation but Halfords do this :-
  12. There was quay all the way down from The Bure.
  13. I know it is water under the bridge, and I have harped on about this before. But why 13 years ago did they not improve Fleet Dyke instead of ripping it up. I took these going to get my engine serviced at Marine-Tec in June 2010. It could have solved a lot of problems today.
  14. And still available for £39. A must have with that front distributor.
  15. Laterones had plastic shields held by turn clips. I had it on my 72 Clubman.
  16. Did they not tell you when you bought your house in Norfolk, Ian. We have 1/2 of June, July, the rest is Winter!
  17. I wish everyone a happy Mid-Summers Morn.
  18. I have often wondered, when you see boats on the rivers or moored in the Broads Marinas, their windows/screens festooned in GOBA stickers if they have been converted for Broads use. Every boat that I have had the use of, been a crew member on and hired on the RGO system was fitted with direct discharge sea toilets.
  19. Do you mean a proper RIB? = Rigid Inflatable Boat. That is a GRP hull and inflatable side tubes? or an inflatable boat with a solid transom. Very different animals in every respect, especially weight if going on davits.
  20. Have a nice day, but don't overdo it. My best wishes to you both.
  21. I have waited so long to sit on the terrace and watch the sunrise I knocked up a collage.
  22. My first cup of the day outside this year! Winters are long on the North Norfolk Coast and the constant NE'ers that have blown for weeks have not helped.
  23. Ebury Mill, on the NW&D canal, when I passed earlier today. I hope that top gate keeps holding above the lock!
  24. All my very best wishes to you both.
