  1. So sad to hear of the passing of Olivia Newton-John. Country Singer, Pop Star, Musical Film Star and Cancer Research Campaigner.
  2. I shall give the advice that I always do. Get in your car, do the rounds and ask for a mooring face to face. Voice mail is rarely returned, E-mails ignored and saying no is much harder face to face than on the end of a phone.
  3. There appears to be a great deal of pent up demand for holidaying overseas again. The Telegraph has this leader this morning:-
  4. Reported in the news this morning. A 68 year old man from Hoveton has been remanded in custody until Sept. To appear at Norwich Crown Court on charges of causing death by dangerous driving and injury by dangerous driving.
  5. You are not far from Hopton. Get booked up. With regards to Bowls their moto is " "The World comes to Norfolk"
  6. We have had our first heavy, coldish rain this morning on the North Norfolk coast. If Barton and S. Walsham have had the same it should help get rid of the Bloom.
  7. Only to be expectedin this warm dry weather. We need a downpour to sink it!
  8. The Financial Times is reporting this mornimg that new housing development may be halted in the London Boroughs of Ealing, Hounslow and Hillingdon due to the electrical grid reaching capacity. It apparently will take until 2035 to be upgraded. So a highly polluted area, which would really benefit from greater use of electric vehicles and indeed heating, where their use is much more "every day" practical. Has not got a prayer!
  9. I don't know how many members receive the above each month, but for those that do not, this was included in this months communnication
  10. I just switched off wifi on my phone and accessed via 4G vodafone no trouble.
  11. Booking agencies were god sent, for not just boating holidays but all types, home and abroad. But only in the days of typewriters, wall planners and our first class postal service. Up until the 1970s many families still had no car or telephone. Small networked PCs for office use and accounts followed by mushrooming private computer ownership with e-mail put many into terminal decline.
  12. My old boat has photographs of both me and my late wife. I would have thought that might run foul of modern privacy legislation as we did not even know that they were being taken. I don't know
  13. Perhaps, you could have an update box. Where owners, ex-owners etc could put in a few lines. For instance my old boat says last seen 2015, but I used it a few times in 2017 and sold it off The Broads in Febuary 2018. Just a thought, that it might be an easy source of updated info.
  14. That is very good news indeed.
  15. I looked on the OS archive at the NLS but can't see anything.
  16. My frustration is caused by arthritis in my fingers. I would love the lightness of an 8" tablet but can't find one with more than 32gb. I need a min of 64gb 128 would be great, but it appears they are just not made. My phone is 128gb so why not an 8" tablet?
  17. I don't think you will find a 15" tablet. Samsung do a 14" in their Tab S8
  18. I paid £2.129 per litre for premium at the Shell garage just before the A12 coming out of Aldeburgh two weeks ago.
  19. We (parents) had a new H reg, 1970 long wheelbase safari. The first one I saw with a one piece windscreen and fitted with free wheeling hubs. Great until you wanted to go rabbiting and you had forgotten to turn them on. The early ones were not automatic and you had to get out in a muddy wet gateway and use a large spanner.
  20. I always understood that the cylinder remains the property of Calor and you paid , as said, a deposit. Therefore if you sell it on Ebay you are committing theft. It is not yours to sell. Sounds like Calor need a few lessons from Chep. (Pallet hire for those not familiar)
  21. Almost certainly. There have been only a handfull built as 320/340 alongside Fleming Motor Yachts. The last I heard the Tiawan yard had the tooling but was yet to get an order, since Reedham closed in 2008/9??. A great pocket motor yacht and one of my favourites, " Poor mans Grand Banks or Fleming" There was a very rare single engine 320 at Cobbs Quay for a number of years, owned by a Divers Club I think.
  22. You are certainly getting your monies worth from your RV.
  23. Years ago I went to the Crumpled Horn as a guest of Allstar for lunch. In those days the interior was "A LA MODE"
  24. Five post war pubs have been listed, including the Never Turn Back in Caister. Others are Scunthorpe:- Centurion Bath Wheatsheaf Camberley Crumpled Horn Swindon
