  1. At 1515hrs I realised mine had not gone off, it is a Samsung S20. I opened it to see if there was a message and swiped down from top. The message then appeared and the warning sounded. I don't know if I have blocked it in some way.
  2. I think it is Pickerelweed, Latin Pontederia cordata. It is an American plant but grown as an ornamental pond plant in Europe
  3. The logging of multiple refusals to pay. I don't thiink they were asking for details of ownership. They asked if he was the registered owner. They have details of ownership from the Reg. No.
  4. Me to, but you would be surprised what does effect it. Couple (our age) in village down sized from large family home to small bungalow in same village. Their credit rating fell, why ? They became a new entry on electoral role. Bl**dy daft.
  5. P.S. Total reliance on Transition X Varifocals does not help either.
  6. I to have swallowed the anchor. 15 years ago I could skip along a narrow side deck in a seaway and know instinctively how the craft would move and go below down a companionway freestyle. Now I would have to hold on all the time and with painful arthritis in my shoulder and hands my sailing days are over, I don't trust myself any longer.
  7. I hope that in asking if you are the registered owner, which of course gives them access to your personal details, they don't intend to register the debt, which in many cases is free with members of the CICM until the debt is large enough to act. If such a debt is registered it could have serious consequences for credit ratings.
  8. Like rough shooting and wildfowling, so with deep sea fishing. " It is the unpredictability of the sport that makes it so addictive and exciting"
  9. P.S. Not sure that I would want to leave my boat there during The "Richardson Stampede" of an afternoon!
  10. 1 off mooring at downstream end. Came up 3 or 4 years ago. The Mill House, across the road from How Hill House has rights in it's deeds for access and a mooring. Makes sense really:-- Wherry in wheat:- Wherry out Flour.
  11. Because grit is capable of getting stuck in the razor cut soles found on good quality deck and sailing shoes and boots. It then can act as a really good abrasive agent on decks and cockpit soles. Who ever specifies crushed concrete and or grit obviously has never owned a cherished craft.
  12. I and I am sure many others who travel The Coast Road will miss this landmark twix Mundesley and Trimingham.
  13. Some excellent big game / Sport fishing off Lanzarote. Hope you like Tuna!
  14. The Dacia Duster in it's 150hp spec does 0-62 sub 10 sec and tops out at 124mph Not so slow.
  15. Would'nt it require a speedo recalibration?
  16. I thought, but maybe I am mistaken, that Geely only bought into the car division and AB Volvo are a separate entity.
  17. I just had to phone a friend as I had forgotten which make we had on our syndicate boat. It was a Yanmar unit and the chap I phoned bought the rest of us out of the boat rather than sell her when we gave up. He still has her at Christchurch and the motor is still going 27 years later. But I must stress she is lifted out every winter and the engine and sail drive leg are serviced annually regardless of hours run.
  18. The main problem with "Sail Drive" is when they reach the second hand market because it is only then you discover that the unit was not maintained as well as it should. In common with "Outdrives" on motor boats the drive has to go through 90 deg, nothing wrong with that but oil changes are critical as is replacement of seals this inspection requires a lift out and as a lot of folk only start up to get in and out of the marinas so skip it. However !!! If it is a vessel from the Newbridge range (Corribee, Navigator etc,) and should it be fitted with a Seagull outdrive, don't touch it. Personally, I raced inshore on a boat fitted with a Sail Drive as a syndicate member but for my own boat as we went bluewater I could never fancy having a hole that big in the hull. Many short handed long distance boys and girls have no holes below the waterline these days.
  19. I had a work mate who's glove box fell down when the door was shut a bit hard. Think it was a discovery.
  20. However if it is a new Discovery or Defender then is is an Indian owned Slovakian car, built in the city of Nitra.

    New Boat!

It was a student rag that made it up and started it for a bit of fun, however a National Newspaper picked it up, and ran with it as fact, unchecked. I believe it ended in court and the originator of the series won against them.
  22. Do they go out to 2024?
