  1. And Griff you forgot the biggest problem with a petrol engine is, some thing the Broads has a lot of, Dampness.
  2. Problem is with Yorkshiremen is. They have to venture south for a decent pint of beer. as southern beer doesn't travel we well not well enough to reach that far north They are stuck with John Smiths and Tetleys, which could be shipped to Singapore and back and still be the same cr@p that left
  3. Got to get the PMR antenna high enough
  4. Lots of places now the limit from 1st of April is £45
  5. In days gone by The Telegraph was my paper of choice. Not through political allegiance, but its news as news is approach to journalism (Also for the crossword ) Nowadays it seems as if most journos (if one can call the bad grammar and punctuation, oh and the spelling, journalism) sit at a desk and trawl Facecrook and Twatter for their stories. Which is so true for local rags. Because if it's on Social Media it must be real.
  6. And what looks like 15 foot of anchor chain linked to it
  7. So this is the state of Emergency in Spain, Beleriacs and Canaries Written by a English Notary (solicitor) in Tenerife Bold text is mine Updated 4 April: Another reminder, it’s apparently still not clear. These are the things we are allowed out for under the State of Emergency: to buy food, medicines or other basic necessities (like loo rolls, not like nail varnish) And they will ask for your receipt if they stop you. Will also check that all that you have comes from the one shop. to go to the doctor or medical establishments (this includes dentists for urgent work and opticians but they are allowed not to open) to go to work (assuming the job comes under the list of essential services) to go home after being out for a permitted reason to provide assistance and care to the elderly, children, dependents, or people who are disabled or vulnerable to go to banks and insurance offices (post offices are also open) where there is compelling reason or need (this is on the level of the house being on fire not that of feeling a need to stretch the legs) for any other similar activity to take out a dog for a wee or to do its business but no more to feed colonies of stray animals We can go on foot or by car but we must be alone, and where we go must be the nearest sensible option – i.e. we can go past small shops to get to a supermarket but we can’t go past two supermarkets to get to one we prefer. We can only go out with another person if we are helping someone disabled, elderly, or are accompanying a young child. If we are in a car, the second person must sit in the rear behind the passenger seat to maximise distance. This is not “silly”: some have told me that couples are far closer at home but legislation in an emergency cannot take account of every single circumstance, and the rule applies across the board and so covers lifts from strangers and taxi journeys too. The only time there may be more than two in a car is if the occupants are returning a vehicle to the airport to leave Spain: this includes taxis but drivers might refuse to carry more than one passenger. Police will ask for passport and boarding card if you are stopped The State of Emergency is imposed until the end of 11 April, a week today. Over the course of the next week we are likely to be told that it is to be extended, probably for another fortnight – and that might not be the end of it either. Everything else currently is speculation based on the likelihood, known from the outset, that there will have to be an extension.
  8. I must admit my time watching terrestrial TV is now limited to two hours a week at the moment. Country file (Although this is becoming a bit apolitical, in some of the farming reporting). Antiques Roadshow always watched it but even more so as one of my acquaintances is one of the experts on there. I much prefer YT some of my favourites Acorn to Arabella ( A must watch boat builders) Auto Auction Rebuilds ( Auction site walkarounds and reviving wrecks) Mustie1 ( Repairing and reviving Garden machinery, Motorbikes, Quads etc) Big Clive ( Must watch electronics and oddball things channel with a great humour) More car shows than I can fit on here Curiosity INC ( Canadian antiques shop owner very into toys and collectables and repairs cars, currently restoring a Racoon infested Rolls Royce) Franchise Kicks ( Buys and sells customer return items from Amazon etc) And lots and lots of Ham radio shows too

  20. I have a Nephew who lives with his partner in Tenerife. Both work in the supermarket business, He works until 11pm some nights two and a half miles away. For her safety she takes the family car. Finishes work at 7pm , She cannot go and pick him up from work as they are enforcing One per car law. So he has to walk from the next town home. So far this past week he has been stopped and asked for his papers and why he is out, 4 times. She put up a message on FB My Darling we live together. We sleep together. But, I'm sorry I cannot pick you up in the car!

  23. For us 8 months of planning just went pear shaped yesterday. My local amateur radio club of which I am on the committee had the task of postponing the South Easts, Largest Radio and Electronics rally. This was due to go ahead in 16 days time. But due to pressure from traders and the public. Usually panic stricken Facebook warriors spreading posts everywhere. Saying people should boycott if it goes ahead. We decided to pull the plug last night, this has caused us a small club to lose a lot of money.
