  3. So what are they going to do take away the airworthiness certificate of some thing that no longer has one? After the withdrawal of support from suppliers including Rolls Royce it can no longer fly so won;t have a certificate anyway.
  4. Tim I was one of those at the sharp end of things. The social workers I have met in my daily travails around the community. Have all the brains that a university education can instill. But most of them seem to have left their brains. in the university path lab pickled in formaldehyde. Air head would be a compliment for most of them. Most of them seem to not be able to walk and talk at the same time. Some of their suggestions in caring for the elderly, are mostly like something from a superman comic. You would need super powers to perform them.
  5. Now the dark days are upon us a bit of summer sun to lighten your day
  6. As the line went out of commission in 1958/9 and the bridge stood for a few years,by the type of crane being used would think this was the construction

  11. Thing is there was nobody at the airshow involved (apart from the pilot who is critically injured) those killed were on the main A27 which runs parallel to the airport The traffic was stopped at the traffic lights when the plane came down My thoughts go out to those involved and my condolences to their families
  12. Updated by a roundabout way last night having had 12 failed attempts by update. The update was effortless if alittle lengthy but now I have it boy is it faster. only one gripe is the cortana search box keeps popping up at odd times can turn off cortana, but no fix at the moment for windows search. Oh and on the laptop Firefox would not load but that was overcome with a download of firefox beta Other than that smooth install on two machines like the look of the default theme of Black and shades of grey
  13. Don't worry about diesel costs, Robin. Knowing those canny Northerners the engine will have been set up to use no more than a gallon per twenty four hours, indeed she'll probably even run on sheep dung and pigeon droppings Don't worry Peter moored up outside a pub all day doesn't use any fuel at all
  14. This was from a video taken by an £11 camera fitted to the rear window of my car. I have one front and rear. Just heard today that the guy is being prosecuted, for driving whilst on a phone and they are in talks with CPS wether to do him for dangerous driving as he almosy rear ended me https://goo.gl/uCTZKe

  17. By the time you are 70 you will have easily drunk over 12,000 gallons of water. And a lot of that water would have been passed through a dinosaur Problem is 90% of politicians seem to have drunk their allocation by the time they are 30 So remember Your brain is 80% water so remember your brain is also partly Dinosaur Pee
  18. Sorry Mostly Polar bears' fur consists of a dense, insulating underfur topped by guard hairs of various lengths. It is not actually white—it just looks that way. Each hair shaft is pigment-free and transparent with a hollow core that scatters and reflects visible light, much like what happens with ice and snow From Polar bear international
  19. John you are right that when you have no signal on your phone you can still ring emergency services. This was part of the telegraph wireless phone bill when the licences were first allocated the proviso was that your phone would roam to any available carrier for signal Also if you contact the Emergency services don't be too hasty to put down the reciever as they may ask you to stay on the line (don't worry it costs you nothing) but may be able to triangulate your position from the signal if you don;t know exactly where you are If you dont know what you are doing it may be worth getting in touch with your local Red Cross or St johns and see if you can book a simple stay alive first aid course other than that is to place them on the floor in the recovery position keep warm and assure them help is on the way
  20. By the time you are 70 you will have easily drunk over 12,000 gallons of water. And a lot of that water would have been passed through a dinosaur Water is the only substance on earth that is lighter as a solid than a liquid.
