  1. I like the way the video starts by saying end of part two . loving the updates.
  2. was it just in the filter or is it in the tank too, if just in the filter it may just have been trapped water in the filter caused it to grow.
  3. not to mention it will incur a toll.
  4. Robin, in case you dont spot it - this information may be needed when you bring Independance up from Plymouth -
  5. do these get automatically updated on for example Robins electronic navigation system, or would he need an update?
  6. well I raised my Glass to Iain last night, then refrained from posting after, thanks for all the Birthday wishes, I sometimes wish at these times that we could still be raising a glass with Iain rather than to him. I know as a new Moderator that I have some big shoes to fill, and even my size 14 feet will feel small.
  7. yes we have a proposal for paid leave for voluntary work being looked at in my company at present, each case will probably be looked at on a case by case basis by our managers if we do get it, as to whether it qualifies.
  8. thats not a proper job, he'd just be a figurehead.
  9. to be honest work clearing rubbish or underbrush on the banks would be an excellent thing to use volunteers for, it could even be used as a corporate team building exercise. where I used to work, we went in as a team and built a wheelchair access path around a local fishing lake, this included bridges from sleepers across the streams and levelling up the existing paths with a mini digger and hardcore.
  10. so what we are all saying is that if we see a risk to boats and navigation, pretty well all of us would react, the only real differences are that we all have different perceptions of the risk at this moment in time.
  11. I wonder where they put them - maybe they just pulled all the bungs out and sunk them all
  12. as its my Birthday too, that is a certainty. (if I ever get home that is, I have just seen the mess on the M25 at junction 30, 2 of 3 lanes shut for emergency repairs back roads it is tonight)
  13. I suppose advertising it as a NP on the NP website can be considered marketing, but there seems to be a fine line when calling it a NP is no longer advertising / marketing, and it seems that the BA are pushing the boundaries of this fine line, so that is now getting quite elastic.
  14. it looks like the difference is in the power of the winch - more than the capability of the crane itself.
  15. I do note one point of concern, " the crane must be installed on a flat surface. an inclination over 5% of its axis could compromise the cranes operation" - erm a boat is always level - right?
  16. unfortunately it doesnt show a loading chart, if Robin only has the 300kg version 316kg at full extension might be iffy (but only just) but if he has the uprated 450kg version he will be fine - so it depends if it is the /37 or /41 variant.
  17. the main dealers are aquamare marine in Plymouth, maybe you should talk to them before leaving - info@aquamare.co.uk
  18. it does seem to vary depending if you have the optional extra 150kg capacity - normally 300kg, with option 450kg, that will be at maximum extension (worst case scenario)
  19. http://www.opacmare.com/wp-content/docs/newpdf/3010.pdf seems to cover the technical specs
  20. I suspect that the ropes were perfectly cheesed before griff had to move them to lay the Dek king, and perfect again when he had finished.
  21. I wondered when somebody would spot that, Yes its my Birthday, Thank you (at work they knew because i bought cakes in).
  22. and as an example of the pattern that will be created and stuck to the deck, then varnished to seal it. compared to the photo that griff sent me for this area.
  23. but in 20 years time when someone does a google image search and finds a previously unknown ferrari, and there is nobody left who knows that in reality it was just a misbadged Alfa Romeo, then suddenly a 'lost' ferrari model is found.
  24. my concern is that if the websites are stating it is thus now, then in 10/ 20 years time how many people will remember the for marketing purposes only part, since all their online searches will just show it as a national park, and that will include the officials searching.
