I’ve often thought we could do with a ‘wow’ option but wouldn’t want to see a thumbs down.

Wonderful tale and photos Helen, as always. I expect your Friday departure was quite wise. We came home mid Saturday morning and the roads were very busy. It’s not our usual time to travel and I would avoid it in future.

Wow! I have an iPhone 6, looks like the camera is much improved on the later models then. I've been using my phone camera more for the same reason of not having a computer when I'm away, and it is fun to be able to upload some pics while you're there.

Wonderful to see your photos and start to read about your adventures Helen. Ironic that after all this time of not being allowed to be out, the weather kept you in the yard when you should have been sailing. I was trying to remember what we did on Sunday. Most of the day was spent sitting on the deck at our caravan. The wind kept the temperature down a little which was the only reason I could sit in the sun that long. We certainly weren't going to try to put the parasol up!

Glad I'm not out in that. Took a look at the Barnes webcam earlier and Wroxham looked busy.

Anyone looking for a stop in Wroxham, we were at the Wherrymans down by the bridge yesterday. Well thought out process. You wait to be seated and they take your contact details for track and trace should they be needed. They were relatively busy but service was good and very attentive. There’s plenty of choice out there for all tastes and all budgets. We wouldn’t want to hire anything more than 35 feet in length preferably. Why pay more for space we don’t need. But equally given that there is only ever the two of us on board, we like a boat fitted out for a couple rather than space wasted on an extra cabin that we don’t need. That’s why we like the boats from Ferry Marina and NBD.

It has been one of those days with the rain stopping and starting. Hope you enjoy tomorrow wherever it takes you.

I had noticed that both boats in front of Pen Lyric were gone last week. That is certainly a change on that middle mooring.

I’m reading it in completely the opposite way. Reduce VAT so the consumer pays less, can therefore afford to buy more which boosts demand and stimulates jobs. And also increases profits for businesses to survive.

I admit to being curious as to whether if a booking has been made that falls within the time period of the reduction, does the VAT change not just automatically apply? I think that the measures around this and around eating out should start to build people’s confidence in being able to safely start to pick their lives back up. We had coffee out this morning for the first time. Could we perhaps try not to throw doom and gloom over everything?

Oh yes. Forgot about Wayford Bridge.

I would go for Coltishall. I don’t think you would only go as far as Acle which is the other choice. Unless you went to Breydon Water!

It is somewhat ironic that this first holiday week is turning a little soggy. At least we had some drier warmer weather earlier. But that wind over the weekend ... !

Glad you’ve been feeling better Ian. Best to follow doctor’s orders. And if a test is available to you then I would be inclined to take it.

Sounds like you need a chance to build some confidence in how things are now Ian. I can’t imagine having been asked to be as shut away as you have been. It will be a real boost to get away to the boat soon. And I wish you all the best with your plans to move.
