  1. Maybe it's time to resurrect the Cooking on a Boat thread?
  2. I know, I’m hopeless. Keep meaning to join in and never do. Someday!
  3. I’m not sure what’s going on here, but the posting of random pictures on this thread has got a bit weird. Yes, I’ve posted so many pics of my own dogs on NBN, but I thought this thread was supposed to be about the current concerns about the BA? Have I missed something?
  4. We’ll they look lovely. I too have driven through the Gwynant Valley in Eryri (Snowdonia) admiring all the purple flowers, but once you get up in hills above you realise the rhodies are strangling the life our of the native flora.
  5. When on the Waveney I think we’ll stick with Hippersons who have been very helpful to us when we have been on Water Rail. You do need to phone them in advance though, as they sometimes need to rearrange their day boats or allow time for them to be picked up.
  6. There’s just one problem…I bet someone took that attitude with Japanese Knot Weed. Actually, in Snowdonia (now renamed appropriately with its original name Eryri) there’s a battle going on to try to control rhododendrons. They are proving to be a real pest, especially in the hills around Beddgelert.
  7. Please, where’s Fineway?
  8. Remember this pic that I shared before Easter? The mad knitter of MK has been at it again…
  9. Has anyone else noticed that these pubs are now offering a loyalty card that's valid in both pubs? Costs £10, they claim it has no expiration date and gives you a 5% discount. You need to order one two days before you can collect your card. I'm thinking of getting one. We don't eat out that much when on the Broads, but at least one of these two pubs usually get a visit each time we visit.
  10. Seems from google reviews that several people have had a disappointing experience recently at the Swan due to staffing shortages. To be fair, other people were very happy with the food and service. One reviewer said they challenged the £20 mooring fee that they were asked to pay as the sign next to the mooring hadn't been updated and still said £5. They got £15 refunded. That was three weeks ago though. They might have changed the sign by now!
  11. This time of the year maybe two Broads? We tried to get into Blackhorse Broad (Hoveton Little Broad) early in the year before now. I gather it opens Easter weekend then closes again and doesn’t open until the Spring Bank Holiday then stays open through to October. .
  12. We’ve realised why Graham didn’t receive it, he was on airplane mode. Doh!
  13. Watch it Malcolm, you do not want to be know as the ‘Mr Cynical’ of NBN, there’s plenty of us vying for that position (even Ms Cynicals).
  14. It’s a shame we only have one ‘reaction’ opportunity, this was definitely one where I wanted to post both a laugh and a sad face.
  15. After a bit of persuasion ……and a promise of some bunting.
  16. As soon as they try to fix it the weather has other ideas. I hope the have ‘a cunning plan’ but even more hopefully, one more effective than a Baldrick one.
  17. Graham’s one is a newer Motorola model than mine…it’s a mystery. I persuaded him to get a Motorola as I’d been so impressed with the features mine had for a very reasonable price.
  18. Graham doesn’t seem to have had his. ‘I obviously don't deserve saving’. We both have the same make phone and my message was saved under Wireless emergency alerts but Graham ‘s phone is showing no trace.
  19. Just got an amusing message from son Harry who’s currently in band rehearsal before a concert due to start at 4pm. ‘Fun when we’re all in a group and the alert goes off in sync.’
  20. Coo, has the Flour and Bean changed? Have they gone ‘up market’ or is it basically the same with up market prices?
  21. I had to laugh, I can imagine an Alsatian nicking Monica’s pork chop, not so much a little terrier. Pozzick could potentially get at that chop in a twinkle of his eye (his head is level with our table top). Luckily we have trained both dogs to ‘settle down’ when we are having our meals, otherwise it would be mayhem.
  22. Study and chair looks good. E cycle sound s like a good idea too.
  23. Given it's Grade 2 listed, I would have thought that the Council have an obligation to maintain it. Although boaters view it as a obstacle, I'm sure lots of other people appreciate the bridge for what it is.
  24. Okay, have no right to comment here having not attended any quiz night…(yet) but…Harrys. Historical I hope, not the contemporary one. I’m completely done with the ‘Markles’, or as some refer them…the ‘dastardly duo’.
  25. Have a great time. I’m counting down the days before we are next on MS, all 14 of them!
