  1. Spot on Mr Fire sir, very well done.
  2. So I keep telling Mrs Nog!!! she doesn't seem too enthusiastic about the half of shandy though......... Fraid not Helen. I did mention they were all Northern rivers. If no one gets it I might have to give a little clue.
  3. Good point, all publicity is good publicity!!!
  4. Probably doesn't really help but here is a photo of Rapide in its Swancraft days. Looks like a few could be seated up there (bring your own cushions) maybe
  5. Ah, sorry Grace - The Bridge is an excellent pub and Phil and Ness are a lovely couple. However the picture is from another (in my humble opinion) excellent pub I'm getting myself confused here!! (not difficult)
  6. What, lager drinkers JM?? (sorry JF no offence)
  7. Aw, don't be put off Jean I just notice odd quirks when I go around the pubs so thought of this, purely as a one off. As I mentioned to Lady V I'll have a go at something else, maybe a more general picture quiz might be better. Leave it with me!
  8. Sorry Grace, no. It is an excellent pub though
  9. I've heard that too. You just couldn't make it up. Probably same people buying up all the loo rolls.
  10. Light drinkers! Is there such a thing? Don't be put off lady V - need to get you and Helen and Jean in training. I might do gin menus next time. It was difficult - I'll have a think.
  11. ......just leaves D - excellent pub. The sign is on a pillar in the middle of the bar.
  12. Well spotted CC - I think JF also had it to be fair - just being a bit pedantic
  13. Are you saying it or not JF?
  14. Well done JF - spot on. On the terrace opposite what was the bowling green
  15. It is difficult - you are spot on with B - well done A is not the easiest to get to by river but is a Broads pub. You've been in C very recently You are very close with D - if you happen to know the landlord and landlady it makes sense (lovely couple)
  16. You always have a good time on the Broads - impossible to have anything else. Please let us know how you get on
  17. Look on the upside though, it was in the Swancraft fleet for a good few years so I'm sure they will have made the best of one of Alphacraft's less auspicious designs.
  18. Firstly mods - if this is inappropriate here please let me know!! Inspired by Fireman Sam, I thought I'd try out a little observation quiz. I'm not claiming these are easy and are designed to make you think. A test for the observant! All the pubs are on the Northern rivers and are in reasonable walking distance from the moorings.
  19. Apparently they walked into the surgery. You couldn't make it up.
  20. Herbert Woods give out free maps in the welcome pack, I've tended to leave it behind in the hope they would re-use it. I agree with the eco bit.
  21. Bump Come on folks, roll up, roll up!! Quite a bit of interest so far, so don't miss out! It's a bit too much for just me and Mrs Nog but would be a cracking family boat or live aboard. Contact Paul at Swancraft (contact details on the right hand sponsors panel)
  22. Very true. When you are tied to a pubco such as Ei you are forced to pay eye watering prices for the beer hence margins are very slim. It is indeed the grub that makes the profit. The mooring system at the New Inn has operated for many years and seemed to work for them, so maybe that's the way to go?
  23. Don't panic Lady V I got in next visit The only pub past or present (in my lifetime of course) that I haven't managed to get in to was the Bure Court which sadly burnt down just before I was due to go in. These are all pubs in reasonable distance. I'm not as agile as Fireman Sam of course For example I've heard the Star at Lessingham is recommended but it's a bit too far. Likewise the Cock at Cantley. Think they are more grub pubs anyway.
