  1. 100% increase. How can they justify that one.
  2. That does seem strange and I suppose I am speaking from personal experience as getting on , loos are more important than anything and being on a day boat without facilities I would have thought practical stop at the pub for lunch and you can imagine the rest.
  3. "Which I thought was a tad off as they didn't go in the pub at all." My first thoughts before I read what you said was I bet they used the loos. Some people have more 'front' than Blackpool.
  4. Saw this just now ... Breaks your heart.
  5. Thank you , Suzie and Betsy are lovely and they also have a lovely owner. Hope they are still enjoying their holiday.
  6. Yes I had an email about this. It is so sad because ok it needed a bit of updating, creaking floors and patio doors that would open when they wanted to. An oil system that completely ran out and yes this was January. This was a lovely holiday home and many many hours spent enjoying the fishing and also bottles of Champers. A good parking bay, never bothered by anybody , suited us down to the ground. Was thinking of booking again when the email arrived.
  7. Thank you for the posts and the photos. How lovely to see a responsible owner that puts a lovely blanket on the seats for the dogs, which are absolutely gorgeous. Not sure if you have said their names but can you repeat them. You are really do so well and well done you for getting up to Stalham and all single handed. Looking forward to hearing more.
  8. https://youtu.be/14RdzFBVr0Y I didn't realise there was such a thing as a floating dry dock.
  9. I will amend my post asking about Otters and reading through I found this post which answers that question.
  10. I say this not knowing anything about batteries but I get the impression looking at the video that they would be a lot lighter than carting around the batteries that we used to have on our boat that weighed an absolute ton.
  11. I really feel that these crews should go to Specsavers? https://youtu.be/PVidAvYkHPU
  12. Gosh not envious at all Hubby is most envious of all, two dogs and just yourself , he reckons that is just heaven. If the Tides are with you , how about getting down to Stracey. Ideal for walking the dogs and you can get yourself a breakfast at the shop. Then you can take stock of your next exciting trip.
  13. Oh thank you , so not as permanent as it looked. How on earth does he negotiate the river carting that lot about?
  14. Smoggy - the land is owned I believe by the Parish. I only say I believe. Sorry but it is a very popular mooring and no amount of sitting on the fence is going to convince boaters that this person (I assume it is a person and not someone beamed down from Lord only knows where) is not playing the game. If you or I pitched up as this person (s) has or have and put up a fixed platform and a brolly and a garden , you and I would be turfed off forthwith. I expect behind the scenes it is someone's job to move this person (s) on. Just watch this space as they say.
  15. Fantastic. So pleased you enjoyed your houseboat in Horning. I love Horning because it is so busy and there is always something to look at. Well done to you and Dad with the fishing.
  16. They certainly do it differently abroad. Raising a yacht. https://youtu.be/EwrcszQ_xL0
  17. Really!! You now cannot take a snap of a whatever and if a boat is in the background we have to cover up its reg number.
  18. I am not making this up but there have been even more fires on Superyachts. https://youtu.be/tz-BSjDkJy4 Glad the yacht was not mine. https://youtu.be/kcJHGET4Z4Q
  19. Thank you for the photos. God I bet that hums.

  21. Be good to know this boat has been recovered. I suppose I could drive down the road and find out but not much point if it has gone. I am more concerned for the family that have had their holiday ruined. If it was a HW boat as said then when we had someone ram us while moored many many moons ago HW gave us Brilliant Light for the week with no extra charge. They are brilliant in these circumstances. Just seen the post above mine. I will go and take a look see as not being moved until Tuesday. It just shows that in a split second an accident (and that is what the word accident means) can absolutely devastate someone's life. So pleased it all turned out well, and as said above I know they will be looked after magnificently by HW.
  22. Well that is a relief to hear, when I read that this boat would be in service by next weekend I was absolutely astonished. River water stinks , just take a whiff of a keep net when it is drying out. You can imagine the logistics of it all, everything has to dry out, all electrics stripped , beds. bedding, linings of the boat all would have suffered and lord help the poor engine. Yes it will be a mammoth task. I feel for them.
  23. If posts are being removed willy nilly then sorry thus is not an open forum. It is just for people without an opinion.
  24. It was one of HW boats, which is such a shame whosever boat it is. A lovely boat and such a sad end to someone's holiday. Very frightening. Good on the private boat that tried to assist.
