  1. Hi MM, Like your style but can we change the ham for cheese? that way you only have to offer the bread to the vegans. Regards Alan
  2. Hello Bob, If you have a picture of the boat by all means upload it onto this topic. Regards Alan
  3. Hello Mark, Welcome to the forum from Tan & myself, Iain has supplied you with the link to the Herbert Woods site with pictures of Beam Of Light. Is this your first time on the Broads? if it is I suggest you look at the videos on Richardsons website we have links on the forum to view these, if you look under forums/visiting the broads there is a couple listed but you can view more once on their site. http://www.richardsonsboatingholidays.co.uk/first-timers/#tabs=1 If you have been before they serve as a good refresher. Regards Alan
  4. At 19.30 this evening on ITV (channel 3) is the Ade at Sea series (no doubt a repeat) in tonight episode he sails on he waterways of the Thames estuary. Regards Alan
  5. Hi Iain, That site is somewhat invasive. Regards Alan
  6. Hello Helene, Welcome to the forum from Tan & myself. We love projects on the forum and the one you and Doug have taken on is of great interest to us, we look forward to more pictures and hopefully no more tales of woe during your rebuild of this classic boat. Regards Alan
  7. Hello Bignig, Welcome to the forum from Tan & myself, so I can't help on the fishing other than suggesting that you should hire a day boat and try fishing above the bridges. Regards Alan
  8. BT is increasing their phone charges by four times the inflation rate in December 2014 not good news for us that still have BT landlines or use BT lines for Broadband. Is this another BT rip-off? http://www.theguardian.com/business/2014/aug/23/bt-price-increase-6pc-home-phone-broadband-football Regards Alan
  9. We have never been into the pub even though we have heard very good reports regarding the food. The poor moorings have always put us off, I know one of our owners booked a mooring and was asked part way through his meal if he could move the boat to another mooring location. By the time the timber intended for the repairs to quay is used it will either be seasoned or rotted. The repairs to the quay will help, but for now why not put in some temporary mooring posts? Regards Alan
  10. Sadly Richard Attenborough died yesterday http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/actor_and_film_director_richard_attenborough_dies_aged_90_1_3739771
  11. Please see this heart wrenching story of little Sarah Waller who now looks forward to starting school. The courage of this little girl and her parents should be an inspiration to us all. http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/health/a_one_in_18_million_miracle_four_year_old_sarah_waller_looking_forward_to_starting_school_after_beating_rare_cancer_1_3738029 Regards Alan

  14. Hello Marina, Have you ever thought about adoption? I am sure there are plenty of forum children who would love to be taken under your generous wing! Regards Alan
  15. Hi Ian, If you need me to edit your post I can do, it seems you have missed the N off of the end of your message, should it read "I Love the NBN"? Regards Alan
  16. To be Honest, I would rather have a Bakewell Tart rather than a Bakewell Puddings. Incidentally there is more than one Bakewell Pudding shop and each says it is the original or the original recipe. A great little town and I can be there in just over 35 minutes on a good day, saying that never go there on a bank holiday the queues can be horrendous. Regards Alan
  17. I was surprised on the size of the Merlin engine out of the plane. A company in Bakewell used to have one in its reception, by all accounts the company made the exhausts as part of their war work. Sorry I can nor remember the name of the company which is no longer in Bakewell. Regards Alan
  18. Hi Tim, No another owner was on board he moored at Horning for the night and John (Hockam Admiral) said Ranworth Breeze had arrived at OBYS a short while ago. Yes the bridges can be an issue, we can not get under Ludham, Wroxham, and Potter Heigham but with the correct tides we can get through most of the normal bridges. Regards Alan
  19. Hi Mandy, If you click on forums/visiting the broads/useful links, slipways, information/B.A. Electric Posts it will take you to the Broads Authority website at the Charging/Electric post location and possible suppliers of the £1 electric cards, you can also contact the B.A. prior to your visit and they will send purchased cards through the post. Here is a link to the Useful Links section of the forum:- http://www.thenorfolkbroads.net/forum/forum/11-useful-links-slipways-information/ Regards Alan
  20. There is a number of hire companies in Brundall such as Silverline etc but I would try for the 24 hour mooring just through Brundall, if there is space (I know a big if) the path from those mooring takes you up to the Brundall Church, and then a short walk to Budgens super market or the Chemists. Alternatively if June calls in the Brooms fuel station and asks if they can find her a temporary mooring, under the circumstances I am sure that they can accommodate her. Regards Alan
  21. Hi June, Your only hope is the Post Office in Reedham, you may be better off going to Brundall. Sorry to hear of his accident. Regards Alan
  22. Hi Roy, Late yesterday there was a picture of the man the police were looking for, I wish I had updated the post then, I guess because the man has been charged the papers had to pull the picture. The witnesses I would say were correct in their estimates, the man did look older than me. Regards Alan
  23. Hello June, We have a number of links to various tide tables including Shorebase. We use the Broads Authority tide tables because it gives the low water height which is important to get our boat through Yarmouth. If you click on forums and then look at Visiting the Broads? and click on Tide Tables, alternatively use this link to see all the tide tables on the forum:- http://www.thenorfolkbroads.net/forum/forum/236-tide-tables/ Regards Alan
  24. Update; a man aged 48 has been arrested for the attempted robbery. http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/crime/update_man_48_due_in_court_today_after_attempted_bank_robbery_in_holt_1_3737147 Regards Alan
  25. The Red Arrrows stopped off at Norwich Airport yesterday between air displays at Exeter & Clackton Air Show. http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/red_arrows_stop_off_at_norwich_airport_between_displays_and_still_find_time_to_meet_the_crowds_gathered_to_see_them_1_3738486 Regards Alan
