  1. Hi Martin, When I am aboard I am always one of the two It is always dead easy once you have a line ashore or in the capable hands of a well wisher with a gleaming boat. Regards Alan
  2. Hello Steve & Deb, There is a wealth of information in our forum pages that is accessible to you but you do have to search through the various headed sections, be it boat yards, BSS inspectors, engineers and even mooring information. The last update of our mooring information was in October 2013. Here is a short cut to that section. http://www.thenorfolkbroads.net/forum/forum/85-moorings/ Regards Alan
  3. Easy question to answer. The gateway to the Broads is where ever your boat is moored or where you collect your hire boat from. It doesn't matter if its a yacht, cruiser, day boat, rowing boat, kayak or canoe, its being on or by the water that counts. Regards Alan
  4. Hi Jill, Sadly Geoff's link to Google maps clearly shows the sign for Free parking for up to 3 hours. I would still however press Morrisons to sort out their security contractor (parking gestapo). Regards Alan
  5. Hello Alan, I would write to Morrison's directly and also send a copy to the security company and also the events booking office. Fully explain the situation including that you had shopped in the store. In the Morrisons car park was their any signs regarding a time limitation on parking, was a notice put on your car? If Morrisons have any sense they will squash this fine. Regards Alan
  6. Hello Strowager, Nice picture. I thought however that it may be better if the the days picture was in a new topic every day so people knew it was a new picture and another topic, rather than a follow on. Regards Alan
  7. I came down to give one of our new owners training on the boat in late May. I left early in the morning for the 3 hours plus journey in order to get to Brundall before 10.00am, it rained all the way down to the Broads, all the 5 hours of training and all the way back to Sheffield. Still it was time on the boat, enough said! Regards Alan
  8. Hi Peter, What's the insurance like on a Viking Funeral? I guess there may be an excess on the policy Regards Alan
  9. Hi Kadensa, No I have not seen that one, what freeview channel is it on? Sorry we are off of topic. Regards Alan
  10. Hello Clive, Thank you for the update and no doubt the start of new questions regarding your comments. Regards Alan
  11. Hello Griff, If you can get chance could you please keep us updated on your progress of the trip or a full report when you get back. Regards Alan
  12. Hello sixhawk, Welcome to the NBN forum from Tan & myself. Regards Alan
  13. Hi Kadensa, "Spider, the Gladys Mitchell one is a 'Mrs Bradley' mystery. I don't know if you saw the televised versions of some of her books starring Diana Rigg?" The series is currently on a re-run on one of the freeview channels, I quite like the program and have always been a fan of Diana Rigg ever since her Avengers days. Neil Dudgeon as her chauffeur George Moody (the new Barnaby of Midsomer Murders) plays well off of Adela Bradley's character. Regards Alan
  14. Hi Jim, The main thing is not to get any warning points under your members picture. I have never seen any, other than on test accounts. If you need any help in navigating the forum please ask, more area's will be open to you after you get above 50 posts when you will be nominated for full membership. Regards Alan
  15. What's it going to be then Alan, building up a good layer of resin and matting on the inside and then sorting the outside out? Far to many years ago I was involved in work on a 50 foot trimaran. The owner was the MD of an engineering company I knew personally but he was also a fishing buddy of my boss, so I had to work at his company for a few weeks installing all the mod cons electronics of the time. The guys I was working with doing all fitting out had been at it for over a year. When the day came for the launch it was slipped into the water but sadly kept going, it turned out the owner had bought the hulls very cheap and unfortunately they were all porous. So when you launch make sure you plug all those holes. Regards Alan
  16. Hello Andrew, Welcome to the forum from Tan & myself. Regards Alan
  17. Some of these boats could be owned by quite elderly owners who are reluctant to see them go. We have featured in the past a few stories of boats that were damaged by intruders and the owners could not afford to have the boats repaired, the saddest ones have involved outboards cut away from the transoms. Regards Alan
  18. A sculpture of Jimmy Stewart is the focal point in a new gallery in Burnham Market. Any story involving Jimmy Stewart is always worth a look in my book, IMHO one of the last hollywood stars. http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/hollywood_legend_jimmy_stewart_s_wartime_role_at_old_buckenham_is_focal_point_of_new_gallery_in_burnham_market_1_3760752 Regards Alan
  19. Hi Andy, Thank you for letting us know. Any news on your webcam? What has the season been like for you this year? Regards Alan

    Hello

Hello Jim, There is more than two forums and at least one forum for the local salty side. Our forum also hosts a few other forums that may have folded if Jonzo had not offered them a home. All these forums offer the individual a choice of topics and information, a lot of our members are also members of other forums, we do not mind nor judge them at all. We have offered assistance in the form of being a message service when other forums are down for what ever reason, we would like to think that the other forums would do likewise. We all love boating, fishing or walking through the Norfolk Broads. Without all of the forms of activities and all the people on the Broads it would be a sorry place. Regards Alan
  21. Do Maffett's hire over Christmas? Regards Alan
