  1. Hi Grace, Some of my mates at the time wore denim jeans and denim tops, others wore suits (in Sheffield the trend tended to be Barney Goodman suits loads of padding in the shoulders) one mate had a coat he called his rug, it was dark brown and looked as if he had taken it off of a bears back. If I have any pictures of the era I would have to scan them. Regards Alan
  2. I had one friend who had an afghan coat, it looked good but it smelled awful. Regards Alan

  9. Hello Vaughan, Little Venice is on the Regents Canal, after saying that the Regent Canal joins with the Grand Union, Tan and I have done that stretch of the canals, but it was quite a few years ago. The Canals will always be our first love on the waterways, but we also enjoy our time on the Broads. Check out the pictures of the Regents Canal on the following link:- https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=little+venice+london&rlz=1C1BLWB_enGB520GB532&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=MwsqAdjBH1nfkM%2CAAAAAAAAAAABAM%2C_&usg=__F-CAz4fSP0jWejbl0EPqU1hDz-o%3D&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwidlfTv7_PYAhXkC8AKHfEwBBsQuqIBCLcBMBg&biw=1821&bih=900&dpr=0.75#imgrc=UaZzZdYnbjqb3M: Regards Alan

  15. I have just spent an enjoyable time watching the repeat of the episode that I recorded the other day of Great Canal Journeys which was of course set on the Broads. It was sad to see Friday Girl in one of the shots moored next to Albian. Regards Alan
  16. Mod Hat Off Hello batabill, All of what you said was also said about the speed ban at Windermere, there were vast objections from both retail and business sectors with no movement by yet another unelected quango. Needless the ban went through, there is still tourism but hadly the value that had been previously been depended on by the local economy. Lets not allow this to happen on the Broads. Regards Alan
  17. Hi imtamping2, Just do a single mitre cut on the length of the rubbing strake, you would have a perfect joint when you fit it and it would be easier to transport. Regard Alan
  18. Hello Duncan, Welcome to the NBN forum. Regards Alan
  19. Hello Mark, Welcome to the NBN forum, best of luck with the sale of your boat. Regards Alan
  20. Hello Wyndham, I would secure a mooring before you start looking for a boat in ernest. If you are looking for a northern rivers mooring it can be a case of waiting for dead men's shoes, after saying that there are not many if at all spaces at our marina in Brundall. As already said space on a boat can be a premium so you have to be selective on any items stored, some might say only room for emergency food and beer Have you come to a decision on the type of boat you are looking for? Regards Alan
  21. Hello Graham welcome to the forum. Regards Alan
