All this is a flying camera... when used correctly they are no danger to aviation.. it's no different than a camcorder which has been used for many many years.. An engine running past your boat makes more noise than this.. Someone can walk up to your boats window and take a video with a smart phone.. a drone isn't any more deadly. What they do is give an unseen view of the world and the broads.. they aren't cheap so there is no way I let this out of my sight.. Sadly I'm not going to stop using this on the broads although I may stop sharing on the forum as it's just not worth sharing on here some times.. You ne me both matey......... as Grace says don't stop, not every one one only see's things negatively. Some people think if anyone else has some thing they have others can't use properly. This attitude has killed off many a good thing mate. If the motors of a drone keep them awake they should be in the centre of a padded cell, I'm sure that would be deadly quite, apart from their own screaming. MauriceMynah
I'm sorry you feel that way Alan, it was not my intention to irritate anybody, and certainly not you. My problem with drones is that while they are unusual that's fine, it's when the price comes down and they become really popular that I foresee problems. At the moment they carry novelty value for the onlooker, including myself, but I can see the possibility of them becoming a noise nuisance if several are in the air at one time
BroadAmbition
I can foresee a great sport here with a 12g 21gram light load Griff
grendel
Charlie, some of these drones are smaller than the clays you shoot, and a lot more nippy and prone to changing direction too, it probably would be a good sport at that, - train up the reflexes. BroadAmbition
T'other weekend there we were shooting 'Midi' clays these are only 90mm and were at a height of 180ft approx - that was challenging. We are well versed with targets changing direction with our Game shooting. I reckon we'ed hit more than we'd miss! Griff
MauriceMynah
I've just thought of a great sport. Fit a drone with one of those laser guns and have Griff wear one of those jackets that registers hits. Griff has a loader and 2 guns available. I wonder who would win!!!
