The problem with sensible discussion rather than hype over climate change is that all its components add up to  today's biggest industry both financially and potentialy employment with far to many experts needing to justify their existence.

That's the problem, it is mostly opinion and some people don't like having their opinion questioned. They take it as a personal attack and respond accorgingly....  though that's just my opinion.

I happen to work in a Faculty that includes respected environmental scientists. They do engage in debate, but their research is firmly focussed on facts.

read in the press therefore it must be a fact. They are there as a platform to sell advertising not print facts.
