Polly
Near Decoy Broad on day 1 and then Upper Thurne above Martham. I couldn’t place the mill.
Chelsea14Ian
Not far from our new home hopefully.

Polly
Could be but they said Thurne and the aerial shots looked like Martham Broad? As they ended the drone shots caught masts ahead so Martham Boats I thought.
Wussername
Watched it. Magnificent. So refreshing to see a film/video which showed the REAL Norfolk Broads. Not the pseudo broads others film for pure pecuniary advantage and personal gratification. Ludham Bridge comes to mind.

PeteBelham
The old mill they showed is just up from Martham Ferry. They were moored at the S bend between Martham Ferry and West Somerton. Its a lovely spot. We see far too many people turn around at Martham Ferry thinking the limit of navigation is just up the river. It's well worth the trip to West Somerton. Polly
If the weed is not too bad it is a favourite trip.

Wussername
I agree PB a lovely stretch of river. Tried it last week but very weedy and decided not to risk it. Went over to Horsey instead. Andrew

They decide that the best time to cut the weed is when it grows the fastest when cut and they don't cut it deep enough in my opinion as it grows back thicker and quicker. I'll wait to see the result of the dredging between the ferry and Somerton. 2m depth should be achieved.

These days my days on the river are very precious not to be spoilt by the negligence of others. So, i turned back. Horsey did not dissapoint and my journey across Hickling and back was memorable. PeteBelham
Horsey is lovely, but doesn't have the crystal clear water of Somerton. To be fair we haven't been done to Somerton this year due to the weed. I'll see if the dredging has made and improvement and report back. I'm pleased people are enjoying the waterways above the bridge.

I do apologise, any forum member is welcome 😊 just let me know when you are planning on venturing over. Unfortunately those with a low enough air draft are few these days due to the BAs refusal to properly dredge the lower Bure 🙄
Wussername
Seriously though. If you cannot make the effort to make that journey through that bridge, by whatever means at your disposal, and there are many. You don't deserve to go.
