i will as time goes on put on some off my pics of what we have been doing over the yrs 

from when we took over the yard at wayford and even might go further back 

 

just need to find some ole pics from the ole ole days rasp man clearing up a the ricos turn round days to jj at woods driving all mad 

even far back as alpha craft to be laugh boats ,fiarcraft ,eastwood s need i go on 

to river trip revue boats and sunk one too ,ohh dear 

 

 

hope not to be to boring ..................................

 

the pics will be mixed up as it takes me ages to find them 

this is are ole friend with his steam roller helping flattern the rudd ohh the rudd 

more of yard in a mess or look the same ?????

building number  two shed 

i have some orf the first shed some where 

lots of metal work and cement for base 

shed number two was a portal type where as number one shed was a mecano type lots orf ole sheets bolted together

all done buy hand and air tools up and down ladder and cheerry pickers yer know

shed number two is all insulated and very bright too 

 

this was when we were two ....................................

we used to have visits from some huge skiff type boots ove the years 

 

some times they would come in all at once and do a cruise from here to thar ....

 

can,t beat a contrast a Italian sports boat built by a small family boat yard on the Italian Rivera for the very well to do with big ball s

as these have got 500hp in them perfect for a quick dash to potter nad back 

 

remember this one poor old girl we brought her up from bottom then towed her back to yard 

with a a very nervous tow we did it 

sadly she broke on her trip up the slip ,well been sick for along time 

 

big ole bessy she was too

 

sat at toad hall womack  for yrs remember !!???????

 

is it me or is the road dry and no boat s on it blimmey must be early days

Poor old boot - ex Glittering Tide? I remember her half sunk at the old Toad Hall for yonks. Such a shame, she would have been a classic in the day.

Howard I was about to say you were wrong. but thought I had better check

my info. You are of course quite right I just always knew her as Wavecommander

built by Brooms. Great boats those supremes, a great designer is Arnot Fowler.

We had holidays on both Brinks Sandra and Loch Loyal

i,m not sure but i think we have a complete one on yard in quite good order too

 

i will look closer but i think its a geo smith come to think of it 

 

poor ole girl she was in a state when we collected her 

it was a fun ole day for all 

 

we took two attempts to raise her up first was a reckie to asses if we could get her up quick and float for the trip

 

second was with extra pumps and tow boat and more traps to rap round her hell to keep her together for trip 

 

as we are greedy we towed another back on that  day too .well got to be done ......

 

with a polite call from the ole river  authorater ...what if it broke up on way runnd they say ,......?????

 

i say it was all wood and wood of floated ,,,.......!!!!!

 

at least we have one of mr fowlers big unns the broom

a bit orf topic but some of today new yrs eve in norflk 2014 land on way to yard and at the yard too

 

cold ........slipppery and nearly are over *** too

 

frost so thick on rudds this morn 

 

yard froze too 

 water pipes froze

 

and booots froze too

 

icicles on tractor tyre 

 

one silly sod came to take boot out ohh dear if only rung first .......

 

but all good with hands fantastic no numb hands ...luxury...

should of made wiffe walk back ,but we squeezed it in and we  made orf

not only rescue boats but collect the odd car too...................love a moggy

3 cylinders and 90 hp 850 cc

used on cats to mono hulls from all over the world in the 70,s 

 

yes we do do strip the carbs ...!!!! and this is why little bits and contamination also water ingress not uncommon 

 

now the road was alot worse at the yard ,think its bad now .....................!!!!!!

 

not really its wales solva bay nice bay great walks and the wind did blow too....................

its a stretched foster from 30 to 44 only a few left now more recent one in a fire !!!!

 

this one had bad luck too, went to yarco and later sank twice with new owners .........last seen on quay side in yarmouth ohh dear 

 

now that i,m looking back i see how many boots have been and gone of all shapes sizes over the years 

 

pic of the bottom of a steelie having spots ground , done to gain access to ultra sound the steel to test for thickness

 

she was in good shape for a mid 80.s boat plenty thick 

was stripped back to bare steel with wet blast system and then epoxy painted ,thas was a great job to do all suited up and once yer start yer can,t stop i finished this one about 1.30 am in the morn

There is the odd one or two around Howard. As John says they have Supreme on the yard I think Iris is another possibly a Loch Loyal type from Loynes (see photo) I am sure there will be others around. 

As John says Cadilly has an Arnott Fowler hull and Martin Broom  top. Yes I have a photo of Cadilly in Holland but not sure where in Holland.

in deed iris was with us for a few yrs too tried to get her back early part of last year too she need a new home 

we recued iris before from a really bad place it involed a mid nite run and under cover specila opps ....................more on this one day

I believe  she was the Vesta which was modified by Lesley Landamore by amongst other things adding

bilge keels to make her more suitable for coastal cruising. If you hauled her out John perhaps you will remember.
