650xs Posted December 30, 2014 Author Share Posted December 30, 2014 here are some more ..... err the Vikings have come ,posh one too we used to have visits from some huge skiff type boots ove the years some times they would come in all at once and do a cruise from here to thar .... can,t beat a contrast a Italian sports boat built by a small family boat yard on the Italian Rivera for the very well to do with big ball s as these have got 500hp in them perfect for a quick dash to potter nad back remember this one poor old girl we brought her up from bottom then towed her back to yard with a a very nervous tow we did it sadly she broke on her trip up the slip ,well been sick for along time big ole bessy she was too sat at toad hall womack for yrs remember !!??????? is it me or is the road dry and no boat s on it blimmey must be early days 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

650xs Posted December 30, 2014 Author Share Posted December 30, 2014 waheey some ole pics too nice one i,m not sure but i think we have a complete one on yard in quite good order too i will look closer but i think its a geo smith come to think of it poor ole girl she was in a state when we collected her it was a fun ole day for all we took two attempts to raise her up first was a reckie to asses if we could get her up quick and float for the trip second was with extra pumps and tow boat and more traps to rap round her hell to keep her together for trip as we are greedy we towed another back on that day too .well got to be done ...... with a polite call from the ole river authorater ...what if it broke up on way runnd they say ,......????? i say it was all wood and wood of floated ,,,.......!!!!! at least we have one of mr fowlers big unns the broom 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

650xs Posted January 2, 2015 Author Share Posted January 2, 2015 not only rescue boats but collect the odd car too...................love a moggy pic of the name sack the cover from the racing outboard 650 xs a proper mercury race engine from the 1970s 3 cylinders and 90 hp 850 cc used on cats to mono hulls from all over the world in the 70,s yes we do do strip the carbs ...!!!! and this is why little bits and contamination also water ingress not uncommon now the road was alot worse at the yard ,think its bad now .....................!!!!!! not really its wales solva bay nice bay great walks and the wind did blow too.................... now boy lift this one up ...................... some will reconize this one its a stretched foster from 30 to 44 only a few left now more recent one in a fire !!!! this one had bad luck too, went to yarco and later sank twice with new owners .........last seen on quay side in yarmouth ohh dear now that i,m looking back i see how many boots have been and gone of all shapes sizes over the years pic of the bottom of a steelie having spots ground , done to gain access to ultra sound the steel to test for thickness she was in good shape for a mid 80.s boat plenty thick was stripped back to bare steel with wet blast system and then epoxy painted ,thas was a great job to do all suited up and once yer start yer can,t stop i finished this one about 1.30 am in the morn 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
