When I got to my boat at stalham the water had gone down about 1 foot is this normal ? I would have thought it would be higher not lower

It's not very often, but it is quite normal for the level to drop that low occasionally.

The EA gauge level at Barton is showing the water level at four inches below the bottom of the average range.

http://apps.environment-agency.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels/riverstation.aspx?StationId=6216&RegionId=1&AreaId=2&CatchmentId=5

It's caused by a number of factors occurring simultaneously, very low rainfall and South Easterly winds over the last several days, and we're in the middle of a neap tide period.

Now's the time to get under Potter bridge !

Something to do with the moon! I have seen a lot of boats at funny angles. Its worth highlighting this as boat owners should check their ropes if they can and possibly let them out a few inches.  You cannot relay on the marina you are in to do it, some might but most wont.

Strow, You don't need to re-index your memory, Just rebrand it as "Accurate"

MM runs away and hides :)

I used to be slightly too modest, but now I'm perfect....
