  1. I have options Ian, drive to Chester le Street three and a half hour drive. Old Trafford over four hours pending how bad the M6 is. But, my favourite option is to fly down early flight, and sit inside Lord's at a Test match. I have been to Lord's but sadly only at the entrance next to the Lords Taveners! Seen several at Chester le Street, and many at Old Trafford, thanks to my late uncle who was a member there. Durham CCC are to be congratulated...First, Collingwood then Harmisson, now Stokes and Woods...Scott Borthwick next maybe? Not bad for a not so long ago Minor Counties side. Iain
  2. England winning these Tests so quickly must be costing the ECB and the test grounds a fortune in lost revenue. Iain
  3. Well for me,healthwise sitting on the veranda at my brother in laws holiday home in Los Gigantes, was always nice in Tenerife. But after being removed of my wallet (pick pocketed) at Malaga Airport, I am not so keen to go back abroad in the winter months. For me, the Broads has a magical charm that is so special, once your smitten, that is! How many more I will have on the rivers, time will tell. Hopefully a few! Iain
  4. Thank you Simon, I have been trying to remember where I had seen signs like that! I too have been on a Bateaux Bus there, Twice! Think the sign was down near Notre Dame. Iain
  5. Hi Ray, Hmmm sorry I cannot give you an answer, but I hope Jonzo or Alan (Jaws Orca) can! Iain.
  6. Hi Wusser, I read somewhere when I was down in May, that swimming in the rivers and Broads is NOT recommended. Sorry if that spoils the kids fun, but may be better to be safe, than sorry after the event. Just a thought. Iain.
  7. As a Scot YES a SCOT, may I congratulate England in recapturing The Ashes. Well deserved by a young side. Now go and finish the job by entertaining the fans at The Oval. Oh and winning again! Iain.

    3 Signal

The clothes line outside the laundry shop ? Is that their mast? Wroxham is usually good with the 3 signal. Iain
  9. Dear Wusser, If you read my remark, don't worry, just do as I will do and PANIC!!! I have seen a preview, and we will all in time be operating it with ease. Our Admin lads speak a language totally off the wall in IT, but I am sure will comfort and guide you through any problems. Yours a very concerned Mod.....Not Iain.
  10. I suspect the Aussie tail may wag a bit, if only for personal pride. If England lose this series now, then its time to turn Lord's into a new housing complex!!! Broad looked knackered last night. Iain
  11. Ah yes...mmmm the version that you can buy in a Chippie is larger than that l see in the pic. I have tried for years to find out who manufactures the ones for the Scottish Fish n Chip shops, but without success. Its usually well spiced, and believe it or not, NOT vwery greasy as far as the pudding mixture is concerned. Where Eric (Rihadhcrew) and Neil (Wonderwall) hail from they also have RED pudding over on the east coast, the best I have sampled was the chippie in the square in St Andrews. Today though, it will be posh nosh as its our Ruby Wedding Anniversary, also Ray's too. There was another thread regarding that, but I am trying to read through all the threads before getting myself ready for lunch out at a nice hotel. Iain
  12. Thank you Alan for a most enlightening blog! The Highs the Lows, warts and all, just as it should be IMHO. I think eleven days is good and a fortnight great IF you get the weather. It has been a pretty driech summer up till now, up here, but thanks to your brill pics its been nice to see some sunshine, but a pair of WHITE feet Bare! Was the boat moving at the time? Seriously, thank you for sharing yours and Dave's holiday with us all. Now enjoy your work and repairs this weekend to Orca! Iain
  13. At least Andy you are talking proper English and not OSH gibberish. I hope you have a nice cruise up the Yare in the morning. Iain.
  14. Hi Myer, Welcome to the NBN Forum Enjoy your sailing soon. Iain
  15. May I add, some of the modern boats do not have as much storage space as the old woodies have/had. Iain.
  16. Dunno, but can we please get back on tack / thread, ta muchly. Iain
  17. Hi Mr Plant, Welcome to the NBN Forum from me . Your hyperlink isn't active, would you like me to make it so? Iain.
  18. I do believe there is a Broom Navigator down at Hippersons / Beccles area. Certainly seen one there on several occasions. Iain.
  19. Andy can confirm I am sure, but that boat looks like the old Sabre Princess and before that Aston Broadsword? We had it for a fortnight in 2002, it ran on fresh air as we only used 56 litres in a fortnight, covering the whole system in very hot weather. That boat goes through THAT bridge I would guess more often than nought. Iain.
  20. Guilty Paul, tis I I agree..WHAT does come next! Tie the Kangeroos UP Sport? Iain
  21. Shame on you Monica going to Morrisons today of ALL days Iain.
  22. I was on the beach, well the pebble stones at Weymouth and our hotel owner came over and said i'm opening the bar early, I feel a win coming on!. Us men did the dutiful thing, and left the wives on the pebble beach! Agreed Paul, that Willis eight for was awesome! Iain.
