  1. Gracie! You are airbrushing out the marriage of a certain member in uniform with handcuffs upon which I believe you have designs! Now you can get counselling for this you know..... Great news nevertheless and congratulations to you both. What kind of hat Gracie? We wouldn't want to clash...
  2. That was a real gem, Robin. I always look out for Brilliant on these old movies, no luck so far, but living in hope! Having a classic boat and seeing them all those years ago, and with people having the same good times is a great thing and makes you proud to be keeping some part of Broads History alive.
  3. Lovely indeed to see them. Thanks for posting.
  4. Yes your post got me here. I had stopped reading this thread. My thought? We did an 'in depth investigation' so now let the little people feel say their piece and move on...'nothing to see here'
  5. I wouldn't call rescue helicopter pilot a trivial occupation, Carole?
  6. I think Geneva is the most expensive place we have visited so far.
  7. Welcome! If you sea sailed..try a bout of ditch crawling? Wlelptons, Martham and Hunters rent out real boats.
  8. Yes ours is tatting on a bit now. We have the magnet thing, but this was something else... Our daughter is having a new boiler in her new home....Vaillant was a no brain choice.
  9. Which reminds me... Griff was talking a while back about a boiler cleaning gizmo, anyone recall what that was?
  10. Yes it could even be a poly tunnel!
  11. How mean not to make the effort.
  12. Portable air con? No wonder the Swiss are so good at skiing. Dave was saying that when he was staying in Lugano, a man turned up to change the host's number plates on the car. Host was out so Dave annoyed him very much by questioning why this was needed. Regulations. The number was to be unchanged but there was a new logo next to it, all authorised so kindly shut up and let me do my vital work.
  13. I always do, I am a saily.

Yes of course! Why didn't we think of at?
  15. We managed 3 generations aboard last year, it was lovely.

Dunno Peter, the foresail flies from the forestay, and we need clearance for the sail and sheets etc. so we usually stow everything that might tangle in the forepeak. Sailies are awkward.......
  17. Omg! They wouldn't survive that today, they would know they needed to get a tummy upset. Yes I did the lemsip but minus the whisky. Some things are too horrible even as medicine!

I have tried a purchase solution for Brilliant's mudweight, but the where to site it defeated me, I tried the forestay but thought it was putting strain in the wrong place. As a saily, we can't have the luxury of it not being brought inboard so a bespoke bracket over the toerail isn't an option I'd want to try. Hmmm you set me off again Crhis now where did I put my drawing board?
  19. Talking about bugs.....I am grumpily laid up with yet another cold 'gone to my lungs' . I never get away with just a sodding head cold, and I now get twitchy if anyone has a sign of a cold near me...short of Japanese face masks, (flippant comments wil be noted!) any ideas for microbe dodging?
  20. I will go with 4 stars at a push, never less.
