    ****head

Funny reading this, I was talking to somebody today who said he moored in Rockland Dyke yesterday, fishing. He said he was very pleased with what he caught. His head was was bald but looked ok. Small world.
  2. Just done a circuit of Oulton Broad, plenty of mooring space at Wherry, Commoder empty, room at Yacht station and only three boats moored in Oulton Dyke. A nice evening cruise.
  3. During my working career I was promoted to a Regional Manager, one day standing in the yard of our West London Depot with the Manager I looked up and excitedly said to him "quick look it's Concord", no reaction? It suddenly came to me that he sees it all the time, I felt a right idiot.
  4. I have really enjoyed reading this thread, it's good that members are allowed to discuss other topics than just The Broads. We'll done all.
  5. Robin, the board at Rockland is very confusing, it seems to be the wrong way around and upside down. Good blog.
  6. Looking at the second photo and take the vehicles away it has not changed a lot.
  7. Also available at many boat chandlery £65, well done!
  8. RichardH, you are definitely in the right place, one of the forums newest members is the expert on Oulton Broad, he will be along when he has fed the chickens.
  9. I was one who criticised SPEEDTRIPLES post, but I must support him on his statement, "a more efficient use of the publics emergency services." When my Mother in law was found dead in bed the Ambulance Service was contacted, a Paramedic turned up first in a car and was followed up five minutes later by an emergency ambulance with two more Paramedics an excellent service. They confirmed that my Mother in Law was dead and then sat outside the house for two hours until the Police arrived. When the Police arrived the Paramedics had a discussion with them and then left. The Police then informed us that we should contact an undertaker, they then sat outside for two hours until the undertaker arrived and took the body away. This was late evening going into the early hours when resources would have been limited and needed elsewhere.
  10. Robin, I did see you walking to the pub later but I was on the other side of the river or I would have come and bought you a drink.
  11. Robin, as I do not want to take over one of your excellent Blogs I have started a new thread. I had been sent to The Norfolk Broads to do an undercover review by one of the Sunday Tabloids. Positioning myself amongst the bushes in one of the major beauty spots, Horning. What a lovely peaceful place, all I could hear was the sound of the Birds singing. After about fifteen minutes a boat came slowly down the river and came to a stop in front of me, The Captain of the ship left his position at the helm and went to the stern of the boat. The Captain then fitted something, this made me sit up and my heart started pounding, it looked like a camera being positioned. : Is this what I had been sent to the Norfolk Broads to find, is it a spy, as The captain looked up I saw his face IT WAS MY HERO, THE LONDON RASCAL!!!!!!! Something must have taken his attention, the boat was drifting towards some trees on the bank. All of a sudden there was an almighty crack that sounded like a branch breaking and could be heard all the way to Wroxham. The birds scattered. The fish jumped, the cattle stampeded and the chicken at Ferry Marina layed an egg. The Rascal looked, and saw that nobody was watching and reversed silently into a mooring at Ferry Marina. I thought that I had better watch a bit longer to find out if anything was happening. Was he working for The Broads Authority checking tax discs? Or was it more sinister was he thinking how to get the chicken into the boat? The mystery deepens, will we ever know. Robin I hope this does not offend.
  12. " I could take my time mooring and any mistakes made would be out of sight -" Shame that was not the case on Tuesday 8th july at 17.21. Wait until the Rascal tells us what happened.
  13. I would have thought that the Yacht Station was kept closed until cause of death was confirmed. Pending further investigation. You can see I watch TV crime.
  14. SPEEDTRIPLE, it's very sad you feel that somebody's death has caused an inconvenience to others. Thoughts are with the family.
  15. Just seen a hire boat come in to moor, hit another hire boat! I heard him apologise, the reply was, don't worry it's not my boat. What a lovely attitude. ps.First time of using one of those new machines that work away from home. IT'S MAGIC!!!!!
  16. "Buy meat fillets, rather than on the bone, which has to be disposed of etc." Have runner beans on toast instead baked beans in the tin, which has to be disposed of. The kids will love them.
  17. I have moored here a few times to use the shops, there used to be smaller metal ones on their own posts saying the same thing, with Norfolk Police on them. These were by the the new pedestrian bridge. It seemed strange to me to see a police notice for boats.
  18. Thanks Alan, I tried to download direct, but could not do it. Rely on the experts.
  19. THE RHOND, a strip of land. The Rhond in Hoveton, behind Roy's Supermarket. Sorry map not very clear.
  20. Thank you Grace. "Sadly Fathers Day will not get me out of cooking dinner :naughty:" I like to cook the dinner, I know it's done properly then.
  21. This was taken a few weeks ago, Bettsie Jane heading for Beccles bidge.
  22. SPEEDTRIPLE, there is; North Cove, about a mile further on, on the same bank is Worlingham Staithe and then about a mile further on, on the right bank is Alderby moorings. About 100 yards inland from the moorings are Alderby fishing lakes. Then next stop Beccles Yacht Station.
  23. SPEEDTRIPLE, don't rely on it, if all the main area's are full you can guarantee that North Cove will be full, it's very popular.
