  1. I always carry 2 A4 sheets with me. 1 for the power cord and 1 for the mud weight. Better to be safe than get a red face.
  2. Watneys Red Barrell should have carried a "Government Health Warning". Ist prize in the pub raffle was a free pint and second prize was 2 free pints.
  3. Thanks Alan. Actually, there is a hotel bar which is closer. It's only 879km away, but I want the choice in Dubai.
  4. Iain, Dinnae worry. I'll be lookin fur it.
  5. I said to my other half that I fancied a few beers, so at the minute, I am checking the car and packing a suitcase. Myself, wife and 2 daughters will be leaving at 2.00am UK time tomorrow morning to drive 1050km from Riyadh to Dubai, so I can indulge in my fancy. I've done a few hours on the broads in the past to get to a good restaurant, but I think this is taking it to the extreme. Never mind, when I get my lips around a pint of John Smiths or Kilkenny, it will all be worth while, although the drive back may not be so good.
  6. Many congratulations and well done to all. It's the entire team that makes an award like this possible and I'm with you in March, so you can start the ball roling for next year again.
  7. Hi Robin, Excellent blog and video. One question, if I may. Is the speed limit governed by the GPS and would the boat still be able to fight a strong ebb tide at Yarmouth?
  8. JimG, Ranworth to Oulton and Rockland to Acle are 2 very long cruises. I hope you have good tide times for Yarmouth. Good luck and stay safe.
  9. Well done Robin. Very nice review of a very nice boat.
  10. Tony, Welcome to the forum and hope all goes well with your new abode. Just don't be surprised if your 2 'almost adults' turn into kids again when you put it on the water.
  11. Hi Mark, Can't give you any numbers, but I was down at Loddon in August with Carousel (keel and thrusters) and had no problems at all.
  12. Sorry to upset you guys, but I just bought some 95 petrol for my girls' scooter and it was 56 halalahs per litre. The exchange rate is about 6.1 to the pound which makes that about 9p per litre. Deisel is even cheaper.
  13. Timbo, Please don't stop these little tales. They keep me going here in Riyadh.
  14. MM, If I bring my dinner up again 'cause I'm laughing so hard, I will blame it on you. BRILLIANT POST!!!!
  15. Strow, When you put it like that, I can't for the life of me think of an argument against what you have said.
  16. Grendel, Using a cable that is too big is better than using a cable that is too small, but I hope the terminals are big enough to take 25mm.
  17. I just noticed that the have partially opened the locks at Oulton to bring the water level down.
  18. A bigger challenge for those without welly boots. lol
  19. Just checked the camera at The Wherry Hotel and you could almost moor your boat at the door. The water level is in the car park. I hope there are no problems for Forum Members - or anybody for that matter.
  20. To the husband - I ask what bait are you using? To the lady - I ask what perfume are you using? To the husband - I ask are you fishing all night? To the lady - I ask what are you doing tonight?
  21. Afternoon All, Just had a look on the Wroxham Bridge web cam and the water level is very high in comparison to what it has been recently. Maybe it's due to this storm that's heading for the UK. I hope everyone has their boats secured and nobody suffers any damage.
  22. You could put electricity and water on the moorings (houses and hotels) to increase the cost of stopping there.
  23. Siddy, The tears are still rolling down my cheeks and my youngest daughter says his family name is "THAT" and she is still laughing.
  24. I will now try and post 4 photos.
  25. If only Iain - If only!!! On a good day, I would probably be in profit.
