  1. Very good vid, sure some people don't always listen however.Back to the video. The gentleman hired sure he works for the company. He looks like the chap I used to see at the London boat show.We always shared a joke.Still for anyone new to boating a good watch.
  2. I agree markets over seas are in the main much better. Supermarkets have given markets a knock. Also sadly many people want a one stop shop.As a chef I like food shops in all shapes and sizes, often spending way to much money.
  3. Vaughan, don't know if you can help.My mum and myself hired a boat in 1974 from a boat yard in Loddon or Chedgrave. Think it was a steel chilled boat called Capri. Not sure is was From Hoseasons or Blake's.
  4. Try Wards,if lucky you can get a discount. Often if they don't stock, they know someone who does.Good luck
  5. We often visit by boat, but at times by car.Yes they do encourage park and ride, but there are car parks also.Okay something are not cheap, but the quality is good.My local large market is Woolwich, which as a child was very good.Lots of meat fish and veg. Many stall holders had been there for years.Always a interesting visit. Now sadly just a few fruit and veg stalls.Lots of stalls offering rubbish
  6. I became a fan many years ago of Union. Think it's a great game. The other week ,I did the tour of Twickenham. This year it's also the World cup in Japan.I also agree.Yes indeed the six Nations is on BBC and ITV.Not sure who has the rights for the World cup.
  7. The Six Nations kicked off last night,a good result for Wales.Beating France in Paris. This afternoon England take on Ireland in Dublin.I hope we can overcome them, will be hard to do,but let's hope.
  8. Norwich market has been voted the best in the country. We always stop off to the market. When we are close by.The market is always worth a visit.Often picking up spices, sometimes fruit and veg .Indeed think Norwich has a good selection of shops.Marina always likes calling in to the bear shop.We often spend a few bob there. If you have not visited give it a go.
  9. Many thanks, may have been the boat at the top.I know it was that part of the broads.Whats funny. We since owning boats have moored at Brundall or Chedgrave. Indeed before owning most of the time hiring from Alpha or Silver line. Now Graham looks after our boat.I surpose it's meant to be .Also one of our favourite pubs is the Whitehorse at Chedgrave .
  10. If I remember the boat we hired was named Capri, think it was a blue steel hull.We picked it up from Loddon or Chedgrave. Not sure the name of the yard.Any info would be great.
  11. Not sure why some people join!
  12. If all else a fails there's catch up.
  13. Depends what you want really ,there are many good Michelin star restaurants in Norfolk. Some in Norwich. Many good pubs on the river,as said You can't beat the Ferry house we always enjoy our visits there. We often go to the Whitehorse Chedgrave. If you decide one of these I would advise booking.Whatever you decide have a Happy Anniversary. Best wishes Ian
  14. For some time I have been trying to find out the boat My Mother and hired in 1974.Therefore if any one has a hoseasons brochure from 1974,I would be interested Regards Ian
  15. I agree,I think since the new owners have taken over, think it's lost its way.I may well be wrong but perhaps all there efforts are used up supporting Norwich FC.
  16. What gives me a laugh, is when you see a boat far from being ship shape.Lots of fenders, all different sizes and colours.
  17. I have to say after a trip to the pub and shop at Woodfordes,I was disappointed. They no longer accept there own discount card.Thought the food was not as good as it used to be.The shop was also disappointing. Will try again in the hope things have improved.Always used to enjoy visits in the past
  18. Not sure I have an answer, maybe a good old ironwhere shop.We always call into the shops in Loddon and Stalham.Theres always odds and sods, you won't find in the chain stores.Let us know if you find any.
  19. I agree underway it looks better up,but as chameleon with mobility issues leave them down.My first mate (Marina),oddly is not a friend of water. Also sadly some on the river act like a magnet.
  20. Think it's nickname is the Beluge .Great transport plane ferry parts for Airbus.
  21. For about that cost, our boat is at Cove Brundall.Great mooring nice people too.
  22. Back in the summer, back home from the boat.I was running down the battery. Some yo yo had got hold of a radio and was swearing for Britain. Was told to only use the radio for what it was intended for.I am fairly close to the Thames sure boats/Ships were impressed with that yoyo.
