Seems to me most hire companies dis courage hirers going over the pond(Braydon water)never mind at night.

Interesting what you say about lights.More then once have seen hire boats travelling at dust,no naval lights,but every light turned on in the boat.As far as I know hire boats not allowed to travel at night without nav lights.Our boat ex hire has nav lights.Fitted when she first hire in France. We have travelled at dusk but not over night.

It's our turn tonight (Chelsea).In the words of a former blue,"its a funny old game".Its been a odd season for us many ups and downs.Very happy we are in the champions league next season. As for tonight if we win and that north London team that plays in red win it will be a all London final. All in all a great season for the game A all England final,in the champions league. The premier league being decided on the last game.

Mum and myself were on the boat in 1974,starting from Loddon. Funny really,Loddon is now a favourite spot for Marina and myself and Graham looks after the boat.

Last weekend I did some work in the garden and Marina sorted out things in the house.She found some photos from way back.Some were from way back.This pic is the boat,my mother and myself hired from Loddon I think.In the past thought it was another boat. The name of the boat was Viva Maria.In the photo,is my Aunt and my cousin.

We had a good morning, collecting for the RNLI even though it was cold.Marina met me and then we went to the garden centres, in and out of rain and hail.Just had two plumbers had a look at our old boiler and gave us a price.Much lower then had before.Another one coming on Tuesday. Hope to get it sorted soon.

I only wish I could do it myself, sadly I am only good at cooking.I like to do things right, even with food I beat myself up if it's not right.Regarding the boiler It my be a blessing hoping to knock the price down.

Today I am helping to collect for the RNLI at Bexleyheath Town centre.Part of Lifeboat week.I always enjoy helping out,the response from the public is very positive. As for the rest of the day we were going to have our boiler replaced. The plumber contacted Marina yesterday, to say he is going into hospital for he's back.This is the second time he's cancelled at the last minute. We have decided to now go elsewhere. Very sorry for him,but we need to get this done sooner rather than later.

Yes Grace very sad all round, we must always be careful on the water no matter how slow boating appears.Boats can be replaced, people cant.

Been there many times great village.

We were last there in September, I filled it in.I agree seems odd that its worded as if you are there today

True,but think there owner could have invested wisely.Sad to see Ipswich drop down.

Think the problem with Ipswich for many years lack of investment, and not well managed. Marina for a joke,gave me a Norwich FC duck,which sits on the boat alongside my Chelsea FC duck.Chelsea will always be my team,but I do check Norwich's results.

We take our hols in September, last year we got hit four times.Three from hire boats and one from a shared boat.The first from a middle aged man when we were moored at Potter.He was coming in to moor.I in no uncertain terms told him why did he hit us.He said I'm on my own.Thats fair enough all you had to do was put the boat in reverse. The last a shared boat,again we were moored, I knew he was going to hit us ,did he say sorry no just carried on down the river.I agree many that hire are good on the river,some not that also goes for some private owners.I have hire now our own boat.We all have to learn.There are many I am sorry to say that just don't care.

Looking at the video, not sure .WIll call down there in the summer,hope it does not lose its charm.

At this years boat race, they issued re useable plastic glasses.However one of the sponsors , a mineral company.Were giving away bottled water.Of course many of the bottles landed up every where.

When I can I visit farmers market.I agree never always cheap.Supermarkets have purchasing power.That said I like to support local shops,farms when I can.

Think you are right,plastic came along and every thing was wrapped, put in it etc.The tech is there to replace much of the plastic. Think we and other first world countries need to recycle plastic .We made the mess,we should sort it.
