savings on office space too, if you have 20 staff in an office and most are working 2 or 3 days a week from home, you can rotate it so you only need 8 or 10 hot desks and a smaller location, so cheaper rent. Most staff can work using a laptop, so all you need in the office is docking stations, unfortunately for me, my software is one of the few that still runs better on a slightly higher spec desktop or an expensive top of the range gaming type laptop. a lot of our designers have the standard laptop now, as I know because the requests I get to convert files and do all the processes that CAD really only does well on a desktop are on the rise, if I were moved to a laptop (as they want me to if I return into the office), then we would have nobody to do those specific CAD processes usually involving larger files (40+ Mb)

It does strike me that the government are aiming this in the thought that prices to the customer will remain the same, but that the business will only pay the reduced VAT, thus giving the businesses a cash injection, of course we all know this wont work like that as customers will expect a reduction, and thus the businesses will be no better off (apart from their accounts departments having a much higher workload trying to balance the books.) Ian may be able to answer this one - will the provisions bought in by the restaurants etc have the VAT lowered too? or will they still be purchasing the supplies at full VAT rate? if that is the case, then the price to the customer isnt going to drop as much as they think it should.

Whichever way you look at it, when you moor a boat you need twice the area of the boat for that mooring, this is because the boat has to get out of its mooring to the river, ok so when mooring is both sides of a dyke, or both sides of a basin, two boats opposite can share the exit space, then i suppose we have the quay heading maintenance, a basin will have a long side between the two quay headings that will need to be maintained as well, so each stern mooring would contribute to that too. each case will be different to another.

the other trouble with ordering from an engineering supplier (axminster toy shop) is that things tend to come well packed and you need engineering tools to get in. like the hacksaw for the metal banding
