  1. I'm hoping to make it as well if the Horning WiFi holds up!!!! But I will raise glass regardless!
  2. Yes maybe the mods could actually correct my typo? and edit to say that?
  3. A lot of housing developments were on hold due to concerns about the pollution effect these would have on the environment / water bodies without mitigation. The government has simply decided to abandon the rules so that the house builders can start building again - needless to say the shares of many of those companies involved went up yesterday. There is a need for more housing or at least affordable housing - I suspect many of these developments contain little or no affordable housing and will be just another blot on the landscape. For example where I live, the previous council just decided to remove a large area of land from the greenbelt so that a massive housing estate could be built with no supporting infrastructure, limited water supply and an already overloaded local sewage system............ the local elections proved what support the local electorate had for their plans...........

    My Day

We've already made cucumber relish and tomato relish. The mint is doing exceedingly well and loads frozen to make mint sauce in the winter. Next it will be dealing with the Bramley apples from our veteran tree! The house built in the 60s was built on an orchard but all the fruit trees retained. Some have been cut down but we got the best tree imho!
  5. The yachts have out lived the motor cruisers - Buttercup is also pretty old, I just can't remember when she was built.
  6. Pass as we walked. I think you would need to ask them. They may have a dedicated parking by the restaurant but they are on good terms with Ferry Marina /the staff that work there!
  7. No one has mentioned Flavours in Horning! Hours a bit haphazard but gaining a reputation for being a bit different

    Goodwind

That's a big boat. Good luck with the project.
  11. Yes long term on the other side of the river
  12. That's wasn't her second appearance. I think it's near the end of the last episode in the first series. Filmed at Stalham
  13. I didn't take these photos, you can't when sailing but we had a great week. One trophy and a very close second (missed first by inches) and some satisfactory results. I'm number 96 - first 2 pictures 1 reef in! Liz
  14. We had an 'excellent' race!!!! Led the fleet for close on 80% of it to killer corner by the big willow tree where the wind went round in circles ........ended up 5th!!!!!
  15. The brown butterfly in your picture is a Gatekeeper. In addition to Peacocks there are large numbers of Red Admirals about. Butterfly Conservation did a press release the other day about them!
  16. No I was setting sail at the house in 96 and then sailed past you when you had turned round. I would have waved but you were looking forward
  17. I saw you this morning in Horning, but you turned round when you saw the racing
  18. Hopefully that helped charge up the batteries? Enjoy the break!
  19. They should have more respect for their elderly customers - before the age of computers and online banking these people kept them in business!
  20. If you talk to bird watchers there is no such thing as a seagull! They are Gulls of a specific species and it's probably because it is illegal to disturb a breeding bird! Same it's illegal to fell trees during the bird breeding season unless you have checked there aren't any.

    My Day

It was brilliant weekend to be honest! Yes I remember our tussle well and yes I did win the White Boat class trophy!! But by a whisker all down to the last race when I came first. I was level pegging on points with Scarce Copper at the end of the weekend but because I had 2 firsts I won! A bit breezy at times but nothing more spectacular than getting a white boat on the plane coming down the Reach!!! Correction to Q only 3 races on Sunday!!!
  22. Tidings should have ibuprofen? I have some....but I might need it if sailing tomorrow and it's windy
  23. I assume the water levels are high ( I haven't looked) as there was almost nothing moored above Wroxham Bridge as I drove over earlier
  24. You were about 20 minutes ahead of me but I came a cross country way via my favourite day flying moth site!!!!
