  1. Thank you for sharing your Journey with us all. Wising you both a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
  2. I hope she hasn’t left anything for the rest of us.
  3. In August 2022 it goes up to £3401.00 for seven nights.
  4. When I looked on the NBD website I looked at the price of their new Boat Fair Regal for 2022 at a Christmas. December 10th for 7 days was £1806.00 and December 23rd for 7 days was £2273.00.
  5. If you look at Norfolk Broads Direct website they are displaying price and availability from the start of the season next year and from then on, all year round hire.
  6. Hasn’t The Buck at Thorpe Green got a bay window at the end nearest the main road?
  7. I hope it all works out well. I can’t think of anything nicer than being on the Broads at Christmas.
  8. Low tide at Wayford bridge on Christmas Day is about 11.00 AM but as stated above Wayford Bridge doesn’t have much clearance even when tides are normal. There’s not an easy plan B once you reach the bridge.
  9. It is interesting to see that Fair Regal is showing availability and price through to the end of December.
  10. Trigger’s Broom springs to mind.
  11. Norfolk Broads Direct had two of their boats double moored on it on Thursday although I couldn’t see any hirers on them.
  12. Looking on the Barnes Brinkcraft webcam this week there have been numerous boats which have arrived in Wroxham and been unable to moor because of the lack of available moorings. Barnes and NBD have both been full of there own boats. The bridge clearance has barely been 6 foot. The Cafe / Dayboat moorings which are normally used as chargeable moorings are occupied by their day boats. The 2 Wroxham Hotel moorings have been occupied by different boats each time I have looked.
  13. I was watching the Barnes Brinkcraft webcam on Monday. There were no mooring spaces available at Barnes Brinkcraft, Boats were going into NBD and coming straight back out again. Two boats were moored outside the Wroxham hotel. There was only 6ft under Wroxham bridge and the cafe mooring had their day boats where cruisers can normally pay to moor. At best, the only chance of mooring in Wroxham currently is if the two moorings outside the hotel are vacant. I also remember the heyday of the seventies when there were a lot more boats on hire than there are now. Equally there were more boat yards to moor in and as also mentioned above double mooring was quite common and I remember mooring 3 abreast at Yarmouth.
  14. I couldn’t agree more. Bridgecraft have a business plan which is ideal for the size of their operation. They have a first class reputation. Their boats are well turned out with an excellent end of season maintenance and upgrade programme. I have yet to see a critical review of their operation, service or presentation of their boats.
  15. They lift all their boats out one by one end of the season. They post the work done on each craft on their website. It is amazing how thorough they are and to see all the damage and repairs / updates that they carry out ready for the next season.
  16. Just a reminder. Yarmouth Yacht Station closes today until the start of the season next year.
  17. The Department of Transport has released a consultation on strengthening the scope of enforcement measures with the aim of preventing the dangerous use of Recreational and Personal Watercraft. Read more here: https://bit.ly/3C0YPHo #BMNews #LatestNews #BritishMarine. There is a link to the consultation document within the above link,
  18. Looking at the photo, it is strange that you cannot see the profile of the drop down loading ramp on the stern.
  19. The hulls for the caravan boats were produced by Alpha Craft.
  20. Currently 6’ 3’’ showing on the height board.
  21. I wouldn’t chance going under Thorpe bridges. If you are coming towards Norwich, try to moor in the Commissioners cut which is on the right just downstream from the bridges. If you cross over the railway bridge just behind the mooring, go up to the traffic lights and turn left, the Rushcutters are up the road on your left Oakland’s is on your right and the Town House is further up on your left. You can also get a bus into Norwich from Thorpe Green.
  22. The New Inn Facebook page says that it will be under new management from Wednesday 20th October and will be closed until the beginning of November.
  23. Welcome to the forum. Ferry Marina in Horning are open throughout November. Have a look at their 6 - 8 Berth range. Royale Emblem was completely refurbished this year. It also is equipped for shore power. I agree with a number of the previous posts, you will be much better off hiring on the Northern Broads. There will be more pubs and restaurants to choose from on the Nothern Broads and also the rise and fall of the tide is considerably less than on the southern Broads.
  24. Hi Mike. Yes you are right. I think they were 10 Berth.
  25. Alpha Craft had 2 cruisers in their hire fleet, Brabazon & Amazon. They were 50 ft long. (Alpha 50s). Brabazon was later sold and renamed Lady Patricia.
