  2. Such sad news. Sincere condolences to Clive and all the family and the whole of the Richardson team.
  3. For me, part of the joy of boating is not planning. Planning means sticking to a timetable and I have enough of that in my home and work life. I like the freedom to decide on the day, if the weather is nice or not, do we want to do a long or short cruise etc
  4. A tent or yurt can be as comfy and luxurious as can be but I agree with Hylander, no way am I going to trudge to the loo in the dark and pouring with rain
  5. Warm welcome to the forum :)
  6. Amazing, he decorates trees and cakes!
  7. You can get awarded half a point or even quarter of a point, but they all add up
  8. Confession time. I bought my first Christmas present today and stamps for the cards. I am deeply embarrassed that I got caught out and fell for the Christmas mood in the shop..... in October Happy Easter!
  9. Warm welcome to the forum :)
  10. Looking forward to seeing more videos as the restoration develops :)

  13. I totally approve of P plates. I insisted my daughter had them on her car for the first few months. I remember my first trip after passing, very nerve wracking especially doing a hill start with a police car behind me! If I see P plates , im always cautious and give plenty of space etc. They've passed their test, but they are not experienced. word of warning on magnetic plates - they ruined my daughter's car paintwork

    Hi

Warm welicome to the forum Tiny :)
  16. My son learned to drive in a diesel, passed his test then bought a petrol which he kept stalling unlike the diesel and got really frustrated by this. He had a few more cars with no fancy gadgets and he's a really good driver. He now has a fancy car with all the gizmos, parking camera etc but Im so glad he had the grounding of basic cars. Done the same for our daughter who passed last year. She has a lovely little basic Peugeot. I can really tell the difference from her just passing her test to now. Im not aware her driving instructor's car had lots of gadgets. Ill have to ask her now! I dont rely on my parking sensors, they go off at all weird times but it is an old truck now.
  17. Ive been watching lots of the narrowboat vlogs lately. My favourites are: Crusing the Cut Minimal List The Narrowboat Experience Floating our Boat Journey with Jono All very different styles of vlogs but Im really enjoying them. All are liveaboards and its sooooo tempting......
  18. That is so so sad. I was shocked when I saw so many boats behind the shed in far worse states at Martham but they keep them for parts as I understand it? Shruff looks pretty much complete. I really want to say - NBN DIY SOS anyone?
  19. A week equals the running costs of our boat for a year
