  1. Put her nose on Gill's burger as the plate was served, whined for food the entire meal and generally gathered admirers while I was trying to enjoy lunch and a pint πŸ˜‚ Today Malc, not sure if it was a new menu as we hadn't been before but it was very nice and it was a cut above ham, egg & chips or a frozen burger. Gill had the homemade burger and said it was the best burger she'd ever had! Trust me, this is a difficult woman to please! 😁 I had a sirloin steak chibatta and it was cooked perfectly, trimmed and sliced so that you could just eat without resorting to cutlery .
  2. Sounds good to me πŸ‘πŸ˜
  3. Day 1. The White Heron, very nice, dog misbehaved. Passed Grendel on his mooring at Rockland - Boat beautiful, Peter missing. Moored at Cantley, the usual suspect has appeared with much engine revving and loud music as usual. We are at opposite ends of the long mooring but may have to move anyway πŸ™„

    A Bargain?

Won't all large businesses have people who can evaluate the benefit of a special offer now against possible future lost business, no one has a.crystal ball but it's much more than a guessing game I would have thought.
  5. Lovely pics Sam πŸ‘
  6. It often amazes me just how many churches and denominations were built and supported in villages throughout Norfolk. Fascinating history πŸ‘
  7. Great photos, I must admit I didn't know about the Abbey and history. Will definitely make a visit next time we have a drive out that way πŸ‘
  8. When you walk into the Dentist's waiting room and no one else is there... that is the nirvana of space... where no one can hear you scream πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  9. On the whole though anyone with authority to question your mooring would almost certainly simply understand your reasonable explanation and move along.... wouldn't they?
  10. He could pretend to be cleaning them because he saw a dog πŸ˜‚
  11. Double checking it looks like I accidentally allowed for the hour difference! I'd say my first answer is possibly right anyway otherwise Lodden/Acle πŸ‘
  12. Low water for Potter, Ludham, Oulton, Brundall, Horning & Beccles (on the online guide I use) was approx 07:05 which unless I'm much mistaken would indicate High Tide at these locations of approx 12:15 Hope this helps (also hope I'm right 🀞)

    My Day

I'm sorry to learn he has recently passed away, he brought pleasure to the lives of many people as an entertainer.
  14. A good set of pram wheels and you were set up for the whole long summer school holidays πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

    My Day

This thread started quite a nostalgia trip tonight for me and my Mrs. I used to take her to Baileys when she was my girlfriend lol One night a singer called Vince Hill was on, not the stuff of us teens but apparently a favourite of Gill's parents, so I took them all... well adopted for my effort and the rest is history! πŸ™‚

    My Day

It was a good night out every time, great disco and a real mix of top acts I saw everyone from Showaddywaddy to Tommy Cooper there, weird mix lol
  17. Yep, you were allowed to have hay fever if you must but anything else was all in the mind πŸ˜‚

    My Day

Surely if you're from Bushey you frequented Baileys in Watford.. top spot back in the day. Of course my day may well have been a long way before yours πŸ˜‚
  19. This could be developed into a feature of the holiday, half a day's tuition with an experienced helm. I would have loved that when I first hired. In fact when I bought my last boat I had the pleasure of spending an hour with a very experienced helm and boatyard owner, honing skills and picking up tips, it was really enjoyable. After all, doing your best at boat handling is a big part of the fun of a boat holiday!
  20. Perhaps putting the idea of failing concentrates the minds of the few who are, shall we say, over confident or too keen to get under way!
  21. πŸ˜‚ Edit: changed my mind 😁
  22. She had control but was not exercising it! One of the biggest bugbears of responsible dog owners are people like the lady you describe... literally give a dog a bad name (and their owners) I would have had to say something to her and I am very averse to confrontation!
  23. Congratulations to you both, a lovely memorable day πŸ‘
  24. Used to love mud weighting but no good for dogs sadly. Prefer wild mooring but where have they all gone? It would be great if there could be some negotiation with land owners that took away their (perceived?) responsibility to moorers and perhaps regular cleanups could be arranged to deal with antisocial rubbish dumping. I know... it ain't gonna happen πŸ™
