  1. I thought the plan was repairs enough to be towed to Holland but it's been in yarmouth for a long time now. Don't look any prettier though.
  2. Here's a screenshot to get Gracie's blood pressure rising on a hot summer day.....
  3. I seem to have a swallow thing going on this week, heard a twang so looked up to spot this little chap on my guard wire. Barely a breath of wind now at burgh castle so looking good for a southwold run tomorrow afternoon, should get under haven bridge 1.30 onwards.
  4. Ts nelson was the sea scouts boat in Norwich and is now moored in woodbridge so probably not the same one.
  5. Gracie has a very valid point there.
  6. Is that what you call it MM?
  7. You can test gas as often as you like without the full bss test, gas is just a part of it. Most is construction checks that are not often changed. You are obliged to be up to spec at all times not just the test.
  8. Certainly forecast a lot less windy next week which will help handling solar panels, wouldn't have wanted to do it today....
  9. The dinghy ride was quite nice, mostly below Reed level so a bit sheltered, albion stout was lovely. Wind on the nose so just put out one of my big nylon 3 strand lines and suddenly much less violence to the lurches and much quieter, not often I have resort to the nylons inland but they do make a big difference.

  11. Is it true that to get some peace while cooking you take the battery out of the smoke alarm?
  12. We must be mad..... Planning on dinghy ride from beccles to geldeston locks later to give the leccy motor a workout, wish me luck! Just walked across the grass at the yacht station surrounded by ankle height swallow buzzing all around not caring about us or the mut, must be bugs emerging. Well impressive display.
  13. The wind should be dropping by Tuesday I hope as I've booked a spot in southwold for a couple of nights.
  14. Hope the warts clear up soon.
  15. Most of the showers now closed also. Most in the pub seemed to be people looking at boats or lodges for sale. Not many visitor spots.
  16. Now no dayboat hire, no camping, basin is only boat sales so very few visitors moorings. Don't know if the pub will last although at a Friday lunchtime it's surprisingly busy.
  17. A mate of mine failed a bike test for not getting up to 60 in a national speed limit on a single carriageway, he was a fat git and a 125cc just couldn't get him that fast in the distance available. But we never took the wee, that would have been wrong... <end lie mode> I've said many times forget what speed you are doing and go by the effects it's having, if on a running tide don't worry about going over the limit if there's sod all wash and it keeps you in good control (more a southern thing, you northerners don't understand a real tide).
  18. The siting of mine was down to where the pipes ran, to have the bar on the bulkhead by the riser would have meant drilling two large holes through the floor supports in the saloon to run the pipes neatly, would have considered it on a broads only boat but at sea I want all the structural strength intact. Also if I change it the corner trim under the basin is easily remade, 2 big holes though a bulkhead isn't easy to hide.
  19. Following the link above I noted the description "Water Saving 3 Mode Function Spray Handheld Showerheads for Dry Skin & Hair" and thought yes if it gives you dry skin and hair it's going to save water, turning off the tap does the same...
  20. So the shitehawk was bang on then! For a communications company they are not very good at communicating.
  21. For anyone with an old tap/shower mixer setup like the first pic below I can highly recommend a standard domestic thermostatic bar mixer, you don't have to have space for horizontal fitting as vertical or angled in my case works fine and is an absolute transformation, and without all the tap twiddling uses less water (both hot and cold) for a much stronger shower. Well chuffed! Had get a 2m hose for my setup and a few modified brass fittings to suit my mounting position and just tee'd off the tap supply. I just have to remember to move the bog roll before using.
  22. Luckily if under WiFi I get calls and texts with lebara, cheap too. Phone needs to support wifi calling though.
  23. How can seagulls be protected, I didn't think there was such a bird. If they going to claim protection they could at least get the species name right, just "gulls" would have been better. Pedantic I know.
