  1. An external timer or remote only needs to power up one wire on an eberspacher for it to power up and run at the preset level and also do a proper cool down cycle when it shuts down, it's the yellow one between controller and heater unit, the remote box I use worked fine on my old boat too with an ancient D2L eber. Mine was from this lot http://www.waferstar.com/en/GSM-RELAY.html I have an old vodafone payg sim in and have to request a signal strength every few months to keep it active. Will have to replace at some time when 2g gives up for a newer version.
  2. There's talk on the dark side about a helicopter hovering over st.bennetts one day and ranworth the next, exactly how big is your drone?
  3. From memory I think it's a 3/4 bsp female to 1/2bsp male adaptor (+ a hoselock end or hosetail) you need for reedham but could be the other way round.
  4. On my last boat the bog (sorry can't bring myself to call it the heads) light was a regular 21w 12v bulb and yes it was way too bright in the middle of the night so I changed the bulb holder for a stop/tail type fitting and put a 5w/21w bulb in and swapped the toggle switch for an on-off-on type, during lighter hours it was still bright enough for a shower and in the pitch black just switch it the other way and have a much tamer light.
  5. Sorry Ian but my other half now has the three stickers on her phone as of monday.... She had her flu jab a couple of fridays ago, next day she flu over the handlebars on her bike, and they say it's safe. (may have actually been more to do with a very nice 4.9% porter than a flu jab )
  6. The posts at reedham are often turned off as that part on the quay often floods, hoses are removed but taps still work.
  7. The flow, there's probably a cill at the bottom as it appears to be a gated opening, this will push water up from the bottom, once past the flow will drop dramatically.
  8. The driver would likely be kidnapped before you got near the mooring.
  9. Don't keep them too busy Carole, mine is pencilled in for mid november for gel repairs.
  10. Same phone number, they don't have a marina website as moorings are more of a sideline.
  11. There's a few boats up for sale at wroxham marine (down griffin lane in thorpe, they started out in wroxham(sheerline yard)) so could be space there in the near future, there's no leccy but the quay edge is ok, worth having a word with the guys down there.
  12. Now that is good customer service indeed, but don't they call it MDMA nowadays?
  13. You trip is not turning out to be the best advert for HW is it.
  14. They might even have haven bridge fixed by then, nah maybe not....
  15. The trick to changing that engine filter is to put a plastic bag under and up to the top before undoing the cntre bolt by the way, that way you catch the diesel.
  16. Plumbing looks to be tank to valve to water strainer to lift pump to engine filter to injector pump. Injector pump leak back to engine filter spare inlet, injector leak back to engine filter bleed screw and back to tank, so that operating the lift pump without engine running should bleed engine filter back to the tank it's just a case of knowing when it's full, any leaks on engine filter should show up by diesel leaking as it's on the pressure side so unfound air leaks getting in are likely to be at the water seperator, if you drain that one you will need to bleed although small amounts of air should naturally self bleed the way your tank return is plumbed.
  17. I've never got further up the road than the town house, may have to try it sometime.
  18. You need the NHS app, not the NHS covid 19 app for booking into places as that is different, the plain NHS app will also let you book appointments and order repeat prescriptions from your phone, I think I had to scan a photo ID (I used passport) and record a short video saying some numbers that came up so they could verify the identity. On my other halfs phone (nokia 5) for some reason the video bit wouldn't come up so she had to do it on mine first then she could login to it on hers.
  19. That's gonna mess up the fuel deposit!
  20. November is good if dry and bright, if wet and windy it is likely to put you off as boats are very damp places in that sort of weather. For a taster summer is a much better option as it will be when you would use your own boat the most.
  21. As the OP said sports cruiser it's worth mentioning that an older volvo (especially TMD/TAMD 41A's) that smokes on startup is not a sign of problems, they were like that from new and will never be any different, first open up after poodling along rivers tends to be a smokey affair as well, it's just a bit of oil build up in the turbo from running with no boost pressure and soon clears.
  22. Looks good but you are putting a curse on it by using the F word. There's no such thing as finished!

    New Tv

I have a 24" sharp smart telly (aquos or something) that comes with mains brick and 12v cigar lighter adaptor, we just use it on 12v, it gets taken home and used as the bedroom telly too with a quick retune (a few minutes). I put a SSD on the back with a sata/usb lead so it can record stuff at home and give me a bunch of films to watch if crap signal somewhere or sod all's on, also lots of music gigs downloaded from youtube (via 4k video downloader) to the SSD. It's a bit slow to start up but all in all I'm well pleased with it.
  24. Snail racing on the broads??? I thought they were called regattas.
