  1. Iain, I've just had one of those light bulb moments, have you tried contacting the broads very own Nancy Oldfield Trust to see if they can help. might also be worth speaking with them if the forum do decide on putting something together about disabled boats/moorings.
  2. Hi Iain, I don't know what they're like now as I think they changed hands, but, this place used to be very good for disabled holidays and might be able to help you locate a mobility outlet. They were very helpful when I took my late mum there a few years back. http://hallfarm.com/
  3. Hi Jason and Sonia, I can't really think of words to express my feelings so will just say remembering you in my prayers.
  4. I would never have dreamt of a canal holiday in London, yet episode 2 certainly wet my appetite to give it a try.
  5. Sounds like you've had a great time Eric and covered a few miles in just 6 days.
  6. This might be a man thing, but the problem I see is with the draft/air-draft, it reads draft 02.01 metres, air-draft 00.74 metres, so it can fit under even the lowest of bridges but might do a bit of dredging on the way. Was there any other problem that I missed.
  7. I think it's time the mods took control of this topic! The forum TOS strictly forbid personal attacks on other members, yet you allow a complete thread dedicated to attacking me. Yours sincerely Bodgit, Bodgit and sons. :naughty:
  8. Iain, Don't know prices or if they're any good but a small local concern at Hemsby. http://www.seadell.co.uk/seadellshops.html
  9. The County of Kent, South East England, Solar Eclipse Watch. 09.00 overcast, cold, miserable. 09.30 overcast, cold, miserable. 10.00 overcast, cold, miserable. "WOT NO ECLIPSE"
  10. If you where into all that Druid stuff as well, having the eclipse on the first day of the spring equinox would carry quite some significance.
  11. You've passed the test with flying colours, start on my boat as soon as your ready.
  12. All this talk of planet alignment and solar whatsits goes over my head. You could say it leaves me in the dark. :naughty: I'll get my coat.
  13. I read somewhere that 77% of all accidents occur at road junctions and don't necessarily involve speed, however fatalities invariably do involve speed.
  14. Grace, The sad thing is that prejudice, both racial and sexual are part of everyday life. How many white Europeans have you ever seen working in Chinese or Indian restaurants. How many women have you ever seen working in Indian restaurants.
  15. Why is the alternate word for happy deemed unacceptable by the swear filter ?
  16. Elton John has asked people to boycott Dolce and Gabbana over their views on IVF babies and gay men. Next time I'm in the £1 store or Primark I will walk straight past any of their products. :naughty:
  17. I like the bar restaurant idea.
  18. Oh Alan, you are a tease, but I like you.
  19. If the air draft is 8ft 6in as stated earlier, the average bridge clearance 6ft 9in at high water, this would raise the water level on the boats hull by almost 2ft, would this be enough to breach any fittings such as overflows or sink outlets.
  20. I was against the re-naming but as it has been done anyway using the term "National Park" seems acceptable. Well done Clive on another excellent publication which covers area's for both boat and land based holidays, I spent last weekend at one of Clive's land based facilities which was good value for money as always, Clive the newly refurbished premier suites are top draw. A company that cares about the customer, not just the bottom line, long may it continue.
  21. After reading that, depression is now firmly taking over and more advice is needed. Should I take the blue pills or red pills. :shocked
  22. I see this happen every year about this time, I've always thought it's because their normal food source is getting scarce and forces them to become bolder, they normally disappear again by the end of March early April.
  23. People should always be very careful drinking water whatever the source, I have always believed that the fermentation process is the best purification method available so if you ever see me staggering with slurred speech, fear not! it is not illness just my obsession with living a healthy lifestyle.
  24. I think 99% of collisions are accidents, no one wants to have a collision (small number of insurance frauds apart) however a lot can be attributed to stupidity. This is a compilation from Russia (I think dash cams are law out there) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfzFlko6LbY
  25. I know little of electrical wiring except it hurts if you get it wrong, however, I seem to remember reading somewhere that in house installations countries that use the radial system have 4mm cable as opposed to the 2.5mm ring. Britain uses the ring main as it uses less metal than the radial system which was in short supply after the war, I can't remember where I read this but if it's wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.
