  1. Oh gosh Vaughan that's me gone , it is all so sad. My grandfather is buried at Outtersteene Communal Cemetery at Bailleul which is near the Belgium border. When we lived in Kent we used to go over using the Eurotunnel quite regularly to visit but too far these days. The cemetery is kept so beautifully and all of the local people have respect for it. Unlike unfortunately over here in some areas. I can see the box of tissues coming out today.
  2. Never seen this before.... Must have been busy in Horning at The Swan.
  3. I agree whole heartedly Gracie. I have two granddaughters and they and my son and daughter in law seem to have the most lavish holidays, it seems every 5 minutes and I always think to myself there must be some poor soul in that class room having to listen to all this. As much as I am grateful beyond belief that they have got a good lifestyle I do wonder in the future what chaps will have to achieve to keep up with all this. This is being written by someone who has been there and definitely worn several T-shirts in the past of having not a pot to p.. in. I give a Broads holiday 5 stars every time.
  4. Crumbs is that how people think these days. Having to worry about what the Jones's are doing or thinking about you and kids have to be able to say they went aboard.
  5. Let us hope it is a one off with this storm we have just had.
  6. Speaking of bridges. I saw a Youtube video taken a few days back of Ludham Bridge and the guys from Richardsons were there at the Bridge with water barrels to assist getting their boats through the Bridge. This reminds me of Potter Heigham Bridge some years ago.
  7. Tampering with electric can prove fatal. Is this person a qualified electrician by chance.
  8. Thank you I shall keep your maps in my holiday box.
  9. Wait till they hear that I want to moor there, you can bottom dollar it will be closed to us. A bit like the Free TV licence that when I go to 75 , that was cancelled. Thank you so much for your very detailed explanation, you must have known I was wondering and looking at Google maps but with my pusher that does seem doable.
  10. Sorry late to the post but can I just ask, the Morrisons mooring in Norwich, how far is the Morrisons from there. Our old legs dont walk too far these days. Is it obvious that it is a mooring?
  11. Saw this and thought of Lads Week.
  12. That should read well aware. Sorry.
  13. I am sure there are good liveaboards who are well awar as to who the culprits are in this case and not wanting to not have electricity in the winter themselves, I would imagine whoever will be feeling the wrath of the other liveaboards. They are spoiling it for everyone.
  14. Today is the 5th and it states 1 day ago. I wouldnt stand up in Court with that though as not always bona fide.
  15. It is on YouTube but more to the point the comments underneath are tantamount to encouraging vandalism. It is quite shocking.
  16. Poor chaps I feel sorry for them being filmed like that. They are only do what they are told to do. I thought we could not show faces. I wonder what has gone on to warrant this action.
  17. Your write ups are as good as being there with you. Thank you, £22, but worth it for the view and the peace of mind on the pontoon and the leccy.
  18. But did you get your knees brown this time?
  19. Jean , have you got a link you could post for your video, I for one would love to see it.
  20. Oh the days of lovely hot weather. At least you knew what to wear, whereas now it is all hit and miss, you either go out without enough on or too much and start stripping off. Thank you David for your holiday tale and I for one cannot wait to hear the remainder. I suppose two things with September being popular, price often drops after August and the ankle biters have gone back to school and you are thinking peace and quiet. May be everyone else had the same idea. We were on holiday on the 18th for four nights and of course had the usual Autumn storm and hurricane type winds. The week before had been glorious. Hubby caught a lot of Carp, (this was from a fishing lodge). He was thrilled as normally catches the odd Perch etc. Did you do any fishing?
  21. Gosh you lot can depress people. I think it is a bit of a generalisation to say that all of Jo Public are litter bugs, leave BBQ;s and beer cans all over the place and have no respect for anyone's property, but by God there are many of them and because there is no law and order in this country it will get worse until we do. The fact that people are blatantly shop lifting and no can do anything about it, doesn't that tell us something. I do still think most folk are not like this and they love and respect in this case our lovely Broads.
  22. We particularly loved Langley Dyke because not only had you got peace and quiet, especially on really windy days as off of the main river and people tearing past you, but you could also dump your trash there and these days that is a rarity.
  23. I dont do FB but reading previous posts here and elsewhere it does seem that the BA or whoever is in charge at the BA does not want to keep Langley Dyke as a 24 hr mooring. Has he got a boat moored down there? Wants it all private? The Landowner has always been ready to negotiate. This has been a jewel of the South for a long time and one of the reasons we hired our boat for 2024 was a visit to Langley Dyke. It has prompted us to cancel our booking.
