  4. Glad you realised before knocking on the door, could have been a very interesting conversation..
  5. Wow!! what a fantastic weekend, it was great to catch up with everyone and meet new friends. Must say, did have a bit of a sore head this morning after going to bed at 3.30am. The weather wasn't fantastic but did have a few bright spells but whatever it through at us it couldn't break our spirits.
  6. David, shall I get your coat. lol!!!
  7. Excellent, I was thinking more a Bravaria like a certain forum members boat.
  8. Very sad news indeed. Our thoughts go out to his family & friends.
  9. Marry Christmas to all members from the HJ3 Crew.
  10. That was a fantastic video and thanks for posting it David. The thankyou display at the end by the Whale just said it all really!!!
  11. When are you planning to be on your boats over New Year?? We will be out on the Thursday to Monday over the NY period. If anyone is about it would be great to catch up, maybe go to Brammerton, Surlingham etc. etc. May even give the old girl a good thrashing over Breydon.
  12. In the last few weeks I have fitted a Status 315 omnidirectional digital aerial to HJ3 the reception has been fantastic at Reedham & Brundall, even worked going down the river, with some distortion obviously. Went to the boat at Reedham last Thursday after the switchover, had to re-tune, now have over 80 channels. all with perfect reception.
  13. That will be a third one if you include one up in the station!!
  14. Looking great Andy!! It was good to catch up with you at Oulton Broad yesterday, glad the new navigation lights came in useful.
  15. Hi md Great to have you on board. I am sure you will enjoy the forum and don't be shy, we are a pretty good bunch on here. Where do you moor your boat?
  16. Very sad loss indeed, 52 is no age at all!!
  17. Hi Clive I found the ICC a good starting point, provides all the basics you will need to get started. Including basic chart plotting, CEVNI rules & regs, Col regs, navigation signs & lighting, MOB training and more. Furthermore, The ICC licence gives you proof of competency to enter European waters. See Link for more info. http://www.rya.org.uk/infoadvice/boatin ... s/icc.aspx
  18. Well, what a cracking Birthday Bash!!! As previously been mentioned, thank you John & Mary-Jane for organising what turned out to be a fantastic meet, you too have a direct line to him upstairs when it came to ordering the weather. The other person is another story, more on that on the Salty Bottom section later. I am sure everyone had a great time. It was great to be together with friends new and old. On that subject I would just like to add... If it wasn't for the NBN we wouldn't know all the great friends we have met over the past several years, so here's to the NBN Now the Raffle!! I thought I would hold a small raffle for everyone who joined us at Coldham Hall to help raise funds to support the cost of running the site. As most of you know, any funds raised over and above the annual site running costs we donate to a worthy charity. I am so pleased to announce that we raised £92 in the raffle and managed to top it up to £100.00. Thanks to everyone who contributed raffle prizes and purchased the tickets. Now a few pictures..... New to the Broads Luke & Claires new Job Done! We also welcomed Barry & Sharron's new toy Alex's Star. Campaign flowing.. Some of the Salty Bottom contingent. Chief Robert Little & Large, did I say that!! A fantastic meal, thanks to all the staff at Coldham Hall. Dress code for the evening, blue & white stripy shirts. Luke and Robert showing off their raffle prizes!!
  19. Paul No, not racist at all! As far as double standards, We stopped all trading with them over a year ago when we had the issues. Fact! Just for the record, our town recently had our friendy travellers, meet on a farmers field, over 300 caravans. Asda' had to shut on 4 times in one day because they were filling trollies and walking out with the stollen goods & intimidating the staff. Is this acceptable NO!! If the cap fits...
  20. I think you will find quite a few of them are millionaires, I know, we used to service all their brand new Mercedes-Benz. Not just one in a family but two or three Mercs. Even then they still felt they shouldn't be charged. They used to walk into our showrooms and blatantly steal coats and other goods in front of our eyes, then rely on intimidation when you approached them. Didn't wash with me, on one occasion I locked a young traveler in my office until the police arrived after he threatened my staff. His farther then threatened to block off our site with caravans. Bring it on I said but you wont have much of the caravans left when my technicians start on them, of course it didn't happen. It is amazing how reversing the intimidation can work. They are all scum and parasites and I for one will be glad when they are kicked off the Crays Hill site. The only problem is they will they will only move on to another area and start again.
  21. I have just watched it and thought it was ok. It was always going to be a little like seaside rescue to make it interesting for everyone. The RNLI do a fantastic job & if they can earn some money to support their services, it can only be a good thing. Worth a view!! Col
