  1. Hi Jon, Try these people to see if they are of help? http://www.marthamferryboatyard.co.uk/trailerhire.html http://www.tow-win.co.uk/ I also wonder if Clive has anything you could borrow? or one of the other yards such as Maffetts or Boulters. Regards Alan
  2. Hi Jon, Thank you for for your pictures and updates, please keep them coming. I rather like the small boat in the first picture. Is that a small eel by your feet? Regards Alan

  5. Under their various brands the big breweries (Allied, Bass, Scottish & Newcastle and Whitbread), still control the majority of pubs. Regards Alan
  6. Hello Richard & Danielle, Welcome to the forum from Tan & myself. Regards Alan
  7. I do not know what a company would charge you , but green oak boards 1.5 inch x 8 inch would cost you around £2.50 per foot. Here are a couple of links to contractors:- http://www.amispiling.co.uk/ http://www.gtrochester.co.uk/ Regards Alan
  8. Roast chicken (steak for me with a stilton topping) new potatoes roasted (sprayed with fry light) mash for Mike, also for Mike a large Yorkshire pudding (well we are Up North you know). Carrots, green beans, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. The chicken not used will be the start of a chicken, rice, pea and sweetcorn stir-fry for Tan on Monday or Tuesday. When we go on the Canals I have two other women to look after me. Regards Alan
  9. Hi Grace, Thank you. Sadly Fathers Day will not get me out of cooking dinner Regards Alan

  12. Do any of know if the two Broads Authority launches that were for offered for sale in January were sold? The bids had to be in by the end of March but at over £25000 they may still be moored up somewhere. Here is the original report in the Anglia Afloat from January. http://www.angliaafloat.co.uk/news/would_you_like_to_buy_a_river_ranger_s_boat_rare_chance_to_snap_up_patrol_vessel_used_on_the_norfolk_broads_1_3212517 I was just interested to know the outcome of the sale for these classic launches, which IMHO should still be in service. Regards Alan
  13. Hi Mark, I would include a picnic basket and a bottle of wine with the hire, and maybe a couple of chairs for that intimate day on the river. Regards Alan
  14. Sadly the last peregrine chick to fledge was found dead, late on Thursday evening. The following story tells of the timeline of this years brood showing pictures of events as they happened. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-27835498 Regards Alan
  15. The Nancy Oldfield Trust will be celebrating their 30th year at the open day tomorrow (14th June). For more information please visit their website at http://www.nancyoldfield.org.uk/ Regards Alan

  17. Hi John, A warning to us all indeed, there have been far to many fatalities over the last couple years both on the Broads and other waterways. I have even seen people try to block vents on boats, it is better to have draughts rather than face the circumstances. Regards Alan
  18. I agree with Robin, always use a fused cigar lighter plug. It uses a 11/4 inch fuse (32mm) and I would normally use a 5 amp fuse. Regards Alan
  19. Hi Jon, Best of luck with that, it is so difficult to get any valet service without taking out a second mortgage, we are lucky some of our owners use P &J cleaning services but they are based on our marina, they may offer their services to the other marinas in Brundall, but I think that is about it. One new company I contacted had cleaning rates from £300. I wish I lived in Norfolk I could make a fortune. Regards Alan
  20. Good morning John, So what did you buy in the end and what features on the camera determined your purchase? Regards Alan
  21. It’s the hit musical that really is making a splash in Norwich. Singin’ in the Rain will conclude its 11-day run at the Theatre Royal on Saturday. http://www.mustardtv.co.uk/browse/hit-musical-causes-a-splash-in-norwich-with-12000-litres-of-water-per-show/ I wish we were there, but I might give the first few rows a miss Regards Alan
  22. Hi Alan, I was watching the last one earlier this afternoon, it seemed to be content just keeping warm in the corner of the roof. Pity I missed it. Regards Alan
  23. Hi Donny, I have rectified the problem that had occurred during editing the list. Please note that Jonzo has started adding the Trip Advisor links to the list of pubs. Again please let us know of any errors. Regards Alan
  24. The list now amended to include more pubs within walking distance of the Yacht Station. Regards Alan
  25. Hi Andy, I would think their contract would not allow for part of the share being sold. Unless you are retired or live very close to Brundall I think in normal circumstances it would be difficult to take all of the four weeks. Our Sister vessel Southern Crusader shares can be bought in single weeks, their syndicate works by buying the set week (it may change over a period of years to bring the week back into line with regards of the calendar). A number of people we have shown around Ranworth Breeze have bought into the Southern Crusader Syndicate because they are keen fishermen. Each to their own. Regards Alan
