  1. Cute aren't they? We spotted one on the Bure when we were making our way up to Womack for the NBN birthday party on 2009. They can give a nasty bite by the way!!
  2. It will be of huge benefit to many people when finished to say nothing of improving life for Elveden residents and local farmers. I use the road a lot not just to get to the boat but also because of the amount of customers I have in Norfolk. I do the same as you sometimes John and go via Bury which me be slower but at least you keep moving!
  3. One of my customers in Bressingham suggested we join them and enter the raft race on Diss Mere back in 1990. Never got round to it but I reckon it would have been a laugh!
  4. Spotted today at the Brick Kilns, Must have been the Broads Authority crimble do as I have never seen so many BA trucks sat in one place!! Hope they had a good dinner
  5. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all
  6. Thanks everyone, She really appreciates all the support and messages from here and Facebook . Each day brings new confidence and Max is having a good chill right now after my cooking tonight We both hope everything is going well for you Dave and Beers! Jim
  7. Thanks Dave, Such a shame that she hasn't been able to enjoy the boat as much in the past two years. New lease of life ahead
  8. Maxine has finally had her hip replacement done which means she will be hopping around the boat again next season. Let's hope the weather in 2013 is better that this year!
  9. Indeed, and the comment about "more research into storing electricity" How much and how long will that take to come to fruition?
  10. Thanks for that David and welcome to the NBN. Looks like a great resource for oldies and newbies.

    Dear Ken Nevard

Very sad to hear of his passing but we're both pleased to hear he lived life as fully as he could. LIke Roy and Diane, we only met him once to discuss some extra stainless work we wanted done but we were inpressed with him and his stories of what had had dome and where. He came over as a kind, honest and proper Norfolk man! I do know that much of the stainless work our yard fitted to Topaz came from Ken. Sincere condolences to his family. Jim and Maxine

    Dear Ken Nevard

Thanks for letting us know. It was only 2 years ago he was sat on board our boat chatting with us. Best Wishes to him and his family
  13. I haven't got a pump .....just straight direct connections. It was Grant (the starter of this thread) that was looking at installing a helper pump. Air lock looks very likely but I will leave it to the yard who fitted it all to find out
  14. Hi Grant, Finally got to check the new calorifier this weekend and after running the engine for over an hour, the water was barely luke warm and in fact, no better than the old system we had. I checked the top hose afterwards and although it was hot where it sits near the engine block, it was distinctly cold before it arrives at the calorifier although the bottom hose was very hot. Poss airlock maybe? The yard are going to look at it this week so I will let you know the results later. Looks like there is little or no circulation but I did notice that instead of the engine maintaining a steady 80 degrees as always, the temp was 90 for 45 mins?? Watch this space! Jim
  15. I did think about spelling it the American way Clive...honest! But then I'm British, stiff upper lip and all that
  16. THe American colours used to mystify me. I can recall asking an American electrician for an explanation and the reply I got was black=hot, white=neutral and green = ground
  17. Hi Jonny, I have often wondered if your sister and dad would have involved. Hope she enjoys the ceremony
  18. Wish they worked externally! I've been trying to find a deterrent to keep spiders from building webs over camera housings. Tried the anti spider sprays and they were useless
  19. I've noticed similar results with our Falcon 22 on Breydon Baz
  20. I think what Wayne meant Ian is the BA measurement of "peak to trough" regarding wash. The figures are on the site somewhere
  21. Me too Howard, Gardening today and working all next weekend Shan't be back at Horning till mid September at this rate!
  22. "For those that don't know said Sheriff " Classic Perry, I never tire of seeing that film
