  1. All BT Routers are poor in my opinion, even the latest ones. So far, I am not aware of one model they supply that will allow remote access which means you need to be on site, have a laptop connected and then wait for them to join you on "Go To Assist". D Link, Draytek, Netgear much better options in my opinion and all the remaining BT units on my customer sites are soon due for the "sack" PS , if anyone has an issue rebooting a router when not on site, I have a solution I can share with you!
  2. Glad we are not up on our boat in these conditions. Worst we ever experienced was the 1987 hurricane which hit the eastern counties that night.

    Another Scam

I like the ideas guys but I know we are going to have to pay up! Lots of Herts folk here these days all prob wishing we were in Norfolk!

    Another Scam

Scams seem to be all around again right now. Last year, we received the Nat West one which once again was a genuine letter with all the correct phone numbers, but the email addy was not. One simple call to their security team soon sorted that! I'm sure Jonzo is aware and it may have been mentioned here elsewhere but Microsofts Tech department has rung us many times over the last week. It is a scam and all you need to do to get rid of them is ask for their email addy so you can put your IT support company in touch with them....Guess what? they hang up immediately
  5. I've lost count of the population of Ware. Can be a nightmare just getting from Hadham to Hertford and as to the high street, how many pedestrian crossings are there?

    Speed cameras

Simple really, speed limits are there for a reason so why not stick to them? There is also the issue of "appropriate speed". Just because the limit is 30, 40 or whatever, due to conditions it really is a no brainer to drive at a sensible speed as opposed to working to the limit.
  7. If you have ever been there, then the first version of Aston is quite appropriate lol
  8. Seems to be something about WRC The one and only time we moored there in a hireboat was in 1987 plus hurricane
  9. Just seen this post which looks like a 27? I'm not aware of any new builds of the Falcon other than the "one off" from 2006 which was mentioned in the MBM article you posted recently.
  10. Stortford was as ever before Christmas with every car park full but I did finally find a space and got what I needed to buy. Christmas for both of us was a great day and a good chance to relax after a hectic work schedule led up to it. No worries about the boat this year as she is winterized and on hard stand this year. First time out of the water since the year we bought her so the plan is to get a holiday let on the marina so we can give the hull a good polish plus anti foul.
  11. I found it easy to navigate too. I can imagine others using a similar platform in time
  12. With winter with us and this discussion ongoing, something sprang to mind. All of the ANPR systems we fit read the oncoming vehicles front plate. If it's covered in snow, there is no system that can read it so if we get snow, there are going to be a lot of freebies lol
  13. Sorry was a reply to Santed using the quote option which for whatever reason, didn't show his post.
  14. I had heard the same but when I rang our insurers, they said no problem and nothing has changed on renewal over two years. You are right to mention it because some insurers do take it into account.
  15. They said I was all set up on the website but try to log on....won't recognize my username as I still "don't exist". At least I know I've got £40 plus in credit. Belvedere now also due for a visit soon lol
  16. Diane and Roy!! With a bit of luck, we might actually get to see you guys again one day if work slacks off
  17. I wondered that too Matt. I guess you can get a rough idea though. I wondered what the heck was going on to start with as I thought I might be about to have a head on with a complete nutcase!!
  18. Finally got my account switched over after 2 hours of phone calls during which they said I had "ceased to exist". The only way they found the old Dart Tag account was after I gave them the tag number.
  19. You can do the speed awareness course locally. It only takes up half a day and saves the points though it will cost you £85 for a copy of the Highway Code. I got caught by one of the roadside vans doing 34 in a 30 limit in Bishops Stortford so that's an indication of where they draw the line these days. Since then, I make sure I pay attention to all speed limits but on occasion, I still forget some times. I was driving from Woburn to the A507 recently and the limit goes from national to 40 and then 30. I was still doing 40 in the 30 zone when a local (presume) travelling towards me, pulled on to my side of the road with headlights on and forced me to slow down to almost stop. Yep I know I was wrong but is what he did considered safe?
  20. Looks like I will have to call them as I still have heard nothing. With trips to Sevenoaks, Hothfield and Ridham on the cards soon, it's going to get a thorough test!
  21. A few of them seem to be always flashing and are probably faulty. On all the variable speed limit areas it's worth remembering that if the sign has a red circle around it the limit is mandatory and no red circle means advisory.
  22. I'm still waiting for the email from the new operating company confirming my Dart Tag account has been transferred to Dart Charge. I should have about £80 left to transfer over to the new charging system but it looks like I've been forgotten
  23. I know what you mean Roy when you mentioned the old A11. Since the mid eighties I have had a good few customers in Norwich and surrounding area and it seemed to take a lifetime to get there!!
  24. First visit was in March 1979 on Crystal Stream 8 from Southgates Lower Street yard.
