That was my photo :-) None of those boats were rafted- they just all turned up to moor at the same time. Within 30mins enough people had left and they were all moored up. We have had a brilliant day on the Staithe with the children playing and making friends all day. Although we are now being treated to a lightening show! At that point , someone on a private boat boat in a bit distress asked if we could tow them somewhere they could reach land as there water pump had packed in .Well, I'm well aware that hire boats should not do this so was put in a bit of a position . With Cantley only 5 mins away and the tide in our favour , I lashed their boat to ours and slowly took them to the pub moorings , untied them and pushed them onto dry land . What would you have done? We have come down the Bure and passed through Yarmouth 2 hours prior to Low Water. Biggest issue as mentioned above is you get carried along pretty quickly! Neutral was 5mph through the Yacht Station so you need some throttle to maintain steerage. All went okay although if a boat had come of the Yacht Station moorings infront of us it might have been a problem. Other weeks that were unused by the original owners and went out to the priority list for the year from 3rd June were: 12 Aug 17! 19th Aug 17!! 28th Oct 17 24th March 18 14th April 18 28th April 18 So plenty of spare weeks going about the problem is that often they are given at short notice.
