  1. Go for a week South and overnight at the Yachtstation, then a night at Oulton, then Beccles, overnight WRC then up to Norwich for the night. Then back through Breydon and stop in Horning on the opposite side of the river and for the last night Salhouse. Although to be fair now we have moved Thunder North we are yet to get back to the Yacht Stations. Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  2. Looking at these posts it looks like £12 without electric but perhaps £20 with electric? Not been there this year so only going on the info posted! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  3. We are fortune to go twice a year to the Broads and it really is easy to rack up £100 of moorings over those 2 weeks. It is of course our choice to moor at these locations but we offset it by not eating out as often as we would. Paying £20 to moor at WRC makes it an expensive meal or indeed swim! 4. She is up for sale with NBS apparently (although I can’t see it listed) Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  5. The BA has a webpage dedicated to open water swimming if you want to have a read. There is even a link to the organisation who ran this event. https://www.broads-authority.gov.uk/boating/navigating-the-broads/outdoor-swimming Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  6. Don’t forget we spent about 5 years moored there! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  7. We have been so often we tend not to go far these days. Our May Half Term week would have been £1600 and our August week £1800........ Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  8. Jasmine Emblem is still £1260 1st week of July though! A years running cost for 2 weeks per year onboard Thunder is £800. Allow £150 for fuel and pump outs that’s £950. I’m still winning [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network

    Low Lifes

A since deleted post (I think) on Facebook had a picture of said offending boat- a bathtub in a lovely blue and white colour...... Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  10. I think these are Barnes’ new self catering accommodation shown in the pictures above. Situated on the “other side” of the river behind the private marina (the old Moore’s yard I think?). Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  11. We crept under Wroxham bridge this year and visited the pubs. Very enjoyable and well worth a return visit. Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  12. Other than Potter I have squeezed an Aquafibre Diamond 43 under every bridge. I never understand why Beccles is listed as a problem- low tide can be 9 foot plus? Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network

  14. Live footage.... Very slow going against the incoming tide through Horning. Tide should turn shortly apparently...... Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  15. And they are off! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  16. View from the New Inn. Not much breeze though.... Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  17. I can see England winning the World Cup and the Ashes without losing a match.... Fingers crossed they do! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  18. I can certainly concur that the North is very busy this week- even cotishall was full Sunday evening. We managed to squeeze into Neatishead at lunchtime and have stayed for the evening with a stream of boats coming along only to have to turn! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  19. Awesome numbers. I gave up calculating my syndicate savings when they hit £10k as I doubt anybody was believing me anymore! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  20. For those that cannot access this will give you the idea: Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  21. Not sure if anybody has seen or heard of this lad before: https://twitter.com/KayakCleanupWil Seems like he is doing great job! Apologises to those without a twitter account...... Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  22. We were once on Thunder when we were clobbered be an Alpha Craft that never stopped. Fortunately we had witness details. We were pushed up onto the concrete mooring, bursting a fender and scraping the gel coat and vents where we hit the wall. Phoned Alphacraft who told us to call in which we did. They laughed and said “is that it?” Brooms repaired it and charged Alpha Craft over £500 plus VAT for that “minor work”. Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network

    Tolls

I would have thought that with an annual toll date the rangers don’t need to check for tolls all year round- they must know the boats on their patch and once they know they have been rolled they don’t need to check again until next April. Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  24. I reckon both might be difficult to be fair! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  25. I have value to add here! We have taken Thunder through North to South one hour before LOW water. We were making 5mph on tickover through the yacht station so not a great deal of steerage no real problem for an experienced helm. Had a bit of an issue when a craft castoff from the Yacht Station ably assisted by Yacht Station staff about 30m in front of us. The nice past the yellow post we struggled to make 3mph at about 2000 revs until under the big bridge then about 4mph across Breydon- this was before the new engine so we were not pushing it. I would say that if the weather is forecast for a fine weekend there will probably be a lot of privateers out and about on southern rivers so mooring at London May be a problem!
