I think generally in life people just don’t like taking responsibility for themselves. It’s far easier to ring and ask for help - think calls to the ambulance service, calls to the police (9 year old screaming as he won’t go to bed....) etc etc If there was a Breydon pilot service I suspect it would be often used! As a family of 4 who visit the Broads twice a year spending £100 over the two visits on mooring fees is not becoming uncommon. Of course it is our choice to visit the places that charge upwards of £10 a night to moor but to offset that cost we eat onboard on occasions when we would otherwise have eaten out. Worth pointing out that I don’t think a combi is any good if you have more than one shower or a pressurised system. That’s about the limit of my knowledge although I can change a 3 way motorised valve. 3 times in 7 years, each time just outside the 2 year warranty! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network

Well..... we liked the Tucson so much When the 15 year old Corsa needed replacing we bought an i20 Active, 18 months old and with the 3 cyl turbo and you soon get used to the different vibrations and noise when stationery. You should try her in the school holiday weeks- the gaps at side on moorings are often too small! We always take the dinghy to increase our options. We have peaked with 4 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs. I would describe it as cosy :-) No doubt solo cruising could cause some problems, particularly as the upper helm only exits to one side.
