Scam E Mails

Recommended Posts

I have just checked my e mail account and have had some stock market advice that is too good to ignore. It told me to invest in a company that has discovered a cure for cancer. The shares in the company are expected to rocket.

I am wondering whether I should invest.

The first name of the lady who sent me the e mail is Connie.     :):)

Oh dear!

I have noticed a few scam emails at work lately,  the latest are requests for urgent quotes,  you have to login to get the specs.

Now I smelt a rat when the guys name was spelt differently in his address and his email.

I traced it back and it "appears" to originate from a large firm of consulting engineers who are working on the new Royal Navy aircraft carriers.

I seem to think they make them out of metal these days.

Not sure what specialist remedial building works are required on these although we have an amazing range of repair resins and wood preservatives.

I keep getting emails from supermarkets telling me I have won in their prize draws. its a shame the email addresses on the links dont match the supermarkets.

Grendel:

You don't appear to be the sort of person who would want to wear draws anyway. Boxers perhaps?    :)

There am I kidnapped by aliens in Texas who dumped me in Florida where I was picked up by Slovenians who took me home and sold me and pimped me out as a gigolo. I ring my mate Mike every time I escape...and he doesn't answer the phone. Just typical!

Well, my accident at work claim, "That was not my fault" has come to nothing!

What a wast of time! Having spent a good twenty minutes giving them a thorough background to this most unfortunate affair they put the phone down on me! Can you believe it?

I assume they don't have the expertise in the area of INCONTINENCE.

Some people get all the bloody luck!

In this case MM you are in luck. I have just received an e mail in my junk box from a nice lady named Svetlana from Russia. I have left her with your details and where to find you. Looks like you have found love at last   :naughty:

Over the years I've doen well avoiding spam then I joined the ITV hub to download progs, big mistake it started from there took a couple of years to stop.

I moved house over a year ago and after a few mails with the estate agent all ok then bang I was get 4-5 mails into my spam box. contacted them a couple of times and it didn't stop so put a filter on the mail box so it was sent to her inbox a few weeks later it stopped.

Think back before the email spam craze when you got post though the door. Readers Digest every other day with a free pen or a car key thats one of six car keys to win a car.

Slightly connected! The telephone bods have a new tactic but I suspect it won't last long! Today I got the usual "Sir, I am calling from BT, there is a fault with your .......and so on"!

Only this time, they asked for a suitable time the following day for a technician to attend. I usually play along so I gave them a time. Then he goes back to normal saying he needs to check my connection to give the technician some ideas! I say" Well, he can do that when he comes!"

Que muttering in the background then a few unsavoury expletives and they hang up!

Some companies you deal with are very lax with their computer security and unscrupulous people download e mail harvesting malware on their computers.

It is not rocket science to keep a company computer clean.

I have just had another e mail with a very large car concern that I had the misfortune to deal with about six years ago. I have told them many times that I do not want to buy a new car from them. after me personally sorting all the problems that mysteriously appeared after putting my newly purchased three year old car for repair they started bugging me to buy a new one . I would not touch this company with a bargepole.

I told them many times I do not want to buy an new one but the b***ers keep sending me e mails despite the fact that I flag them up as spam to my providers. They just change the e mail address they use and send me another e mail. I have now tried to block the domain and see if that works.

Anyway, back to what I was talking about. Every time this supposedly very reputable company (not in my books) e mails me I get a flurry of spam from other sources. I know it is linked to this company as I have several e mail addresses and this is the one I use for this company. They must have a very lax and lazy administrator on their computer system ..............or, somebody in the company is making a bit on the side by selling their customer's e mail addresses.
