Guest
Friday 7th December Waking up to a wet and very windy morning at Langley, as you'd expect a wind which pinned me against the bank. I took the dog out for a quick comfort break before returning to make a coffee and have a look over the forum. I really wasn't sure what to do today, the weather was pretty grim and the tide was still incoming so heading off down towards Reedham meant fighting the tide in the rain. Instead after another coffee or two I took the dog out for a walk. We headed up to have a look at the state of play on the River Yare before returning back along the moorings again And then headed out to the roadway. Strange how different the pathway looks and feels when you can see it in daylight We headed up for a slow walk to the Beauchamp Arms along the roadway And popped into Langley Abbey Car Park Just for a quick look around. Even in wet cold weather the views are beautiful With it being 1010, it dawned on me that the pub doesn't open until 1200 which meant faffing around until it opened up, and so I decided to head back the way we had come back to the boat. I passed my neighbour along the way, and he seemed to be a really nice bloke as we passed complimentary hello's as we walked past each other. See, don't judge people. When I got back to the boat I began the arduous task of leaving the mooring fighting the wind, assistance would have been handy, but your hair does look beautiful babe . Everything was fine though, and it was then off up the Dyke, and then a right turn down the Yare as the rain really kicked up. My head did retain its position out of the helm roof window as always however. It was 1200 by the time I passed Cantley Sugar Factory and then continuing on down the Yare through Reedhamand then off down the New Cutbefore turning left and finally grabbing an ebbing tide as I travelled up through St Olaves, just as the sun decided to come out Once I had moored up it was obviously time to go for a walk and grab a beer, so ignoring the Bell We headed up towards Fritton in the late afternoon sunshine (finally) and there was no arguments about walking along the sodden country trail beside the main road in heels at all Like no one knew we was off for a walk and I chose everyone's footwear After an (awful) beer we headed back to St Olaves, a quick nip back to the boat just to check everything was ok due to the awful wind As the sun was setting Everything being fine we walked back to the Bell at St Olaves and had a lovely evening chatting whilst the dog made herself comfortable sitting beside the roaring fire was rather romantic but far too soon it was time to head back to the boat, down the little pathway. The photo below shows me walking with my phone torch turned on. No one needs to mention me falling over drunkenly head first when I met the low wall that lines the bend of the pathway thinking I didn't need the torch turning on to find my way before a lovely late night on board with wine and the best of company. SwanR
Beautiful photos as ever Jay. Looked something of a bleak day but with a beautiful sunset to round things off. Still it does always have a certain charm and beauty to the landscape even on grey days.

Is that why you are trying to be so nasty? You know that's what people do at school, treat those they secretly want with false abuse Can you remember school Miss D??? Leastways that’s what I do with my dogs! I’ve just thought, it’s the collar and lead you really want isn’t it? I didn’t know you were in to that sort of thing!!
