Did they have any beer on? He was on about getting some Humpty Dumpty but that was back in February. Assuming same guy running it? Not been in since.

Yeah it's the same guy but unfortunately I didn't notice what beers he had on to be honest, sorry

Great photos Jay. I've not been in Norada, is it worth a visit?

Thank you

It's ok, it is still a work in progress in fairness to them and it is coming along slowly. It's nothing fancy but I'd certainly give it a go, just take your coat with you as it's a bit chilly in there :default_biggrin:

Good to see it not going to ruins however, whatever people's thoughts of the place are :default_beerchug:

Lovely photos Jay. Sounds like that was a long day’s cruising but still with plenty of family time. A nice balance.

Thank you Jean

Looks a bit like one of the window seats at The Ferry, Stokesby!

No, not the Ferry mate

Don't think it's the Ferry. I'll have a punt at Coldham Hall.

Oh my God you can be so annoying sometimes always getting it right :default_biggrin:

Well done Mr Nog :default_beerchug:

Monday 28th October

We had a bit of a lie in on the Monday as it was so quiet and peaceful up at Paddys Lane, but as always me being the first one up I put the kettle on and headed out for a few minutes with the dog.

20191028_100457.thumb.jpg.b2145feee8a67caf8b78a32038ce5ca1.jpg

When I returned to the boat I was still up alone and so made myself a brew and tidied up a little, ready to set off.

By 1030 everyone was up and I untied the boat and began our return journey along the river

And back over Barton Broad to venture back down the Ant.

It was another beautiful late October morning with the sun out and a cool breeze blowing, peaceful and wonderful.

As we continued on the river seemed a little quieter today, and mornings that we passed such as Irstead and How Hill were empty or there abouts and as we reached Ludham Beidge once more these moorings were fairly quiet too.

We made our way through the bridge unimpeded this morning, it was now around 1140, and then continued on the last stretch of the River Ant before rejoining the River Bure and passing by St Benet's Abbey.

We made a slow steady progress along the Bure, we were in no rush and took it easy in the Autumn sunshine and eventually reached a quiet Acle around 1300ish.

I turned us around and moored up outside the Bridge Inn and we popped inside for a dinnertime refreshment

Or two :default_norty:

20191028_140248.thumb.jpg.ebb1021237531df402ffe2cf0bd7779f.jpg

After which we headed back to the boat

20191028_141432.thumb.jpg.cd1dd7199adecd6e4c77fa7cb620546f.jpg

And by 1415 we were underway once again, the kids having a spot of dinner aboard as I ventured on down the Bure passing Stokesby and the Stracey Arms as we went on our way back to Yarmouth to cross Breydon Water.

The clouds creating sunny intervals that cleared up a little as we went on, and it provided a picturesque scenery to what can be a little mundane stretch of river.

Travelling with the tide I continued to just plod along, slack was scheduled for about 1700 but in order to use as much daylight as possible I was aiming to cross a little earlier than that, which we indeed did do, by around 1615 we were heading under Breydon Bridge and beginning our trip back over the expanse of water to the South side.

20191028_170801.thumb.jpg.d1b3ad3e66a1ec92f28757d28748ce97.jpg

We saw no boats as we crossed, probably due to the fact that by the time we had reached the end of Breydon and was passing The Fisherman's Inn it was completely dark once again.

20191028_171446.thumb.jpg.f08a7cc6a69a55054cceefd3142c872d.jpg

I had switched on our lights and I continued down the Waveney, my phone unable to capture just how peaceful and relaxing it is moving along the river in the dark, all alone.

20191028_172226.thumb.jpg.9b3b2696a95687f263db88a40ddeccf8.jpg

Eventually I reached St Olaves, the BA moorings were occupied but there was plenty of height beneath the bridge to pass under, and I managed to moor on the pub moorings just after by around 1815.

Once the dog had been exercised we headed into The Bell for an evening talking away over a drink or two

20191028_183809.thumb.jpg.d63683c073a6db5bd87026ccd3596dad.jpg

Later in the evening we returned to the boat to play some games once again.

Hey I can walk on water to grab a photo...

Once we had finished exploding kittens and other such games we all decided it was time for bed to round off another great day.

The photos at The Bell have come out well. I like the well lit moorings, saves having to pick your way back to the boat with a torch.

You're completely right

To be honest I have always aimed for the BA moorings in the past whenever I could, but the well lit pub moorings are beautiful....and also avoid the possibility of falling over low level walls along dark unlit pathways on the way back to the boat :default_biggrin:
