This'll be great. We love Italian so we'll have a choice from the Gardens: a short walk to the Italian or a longer, healthier walk to the Yare. I guess we'll just have to do both. No, not on the same walk!

Yeeeaaaahhhhhhhhhh, i love Italian food, and we have a really good Italian restaurant just down the road in Ringwood. So to have one just up the road from Lightnings base in Brundall means the Yare now has some serious competition.

I will wait and see,depends on the menu.Have seen so many Italian restaurants with limited menus,and as a result fall by the way side.

In all the years we have been moored at Brundall we never went to the Lavender House, it never looked inviting. 

Lets hope that this new business takes off, it will certainly help the village.

When the Lavender House became an Indian  restaurant we gave it a try.  The food was mediocre and the place totally lacked atmosphere.  Not at all surprised it didn't endure for long

While I agree about limited menu's, it' also worth considering that if a restaurant has an overly large choice, it's often not freshly cooked, or prepared in house. Memories of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares comes to mind.

Gave the Lavender house a go in the past and found the food very nice but the service was all very regimented (we had the taster menu). We were fans of the indian only because it saved the odd trip to Norwich or the Tamarind however the food was average and the place was always cold...the chef did you used to run us home though . Looking forward to this one and as Speedtriple says I'd far rather see a small menu with a few specials... it usually means a better experience. Lets hope they can turn the heating up in the new year!
